An Bang Seaside Village Homestay

My husband and I stayed at this very cosy homestay for 4 days around bank holiday May. An Bang beach is a 100m walk which is fantastic. We had 4 super days lying in the sun and swimming swimming swimming. It was wonderful to recharge batteries. 
There are 3 small villas in a gorgeous garden consisting of a beautiful room that can host a family, bathroom and a perfect area outside for resting and relaxing, eating Al fresco and even possible to cook a meal should you wish to. But really no need as there are restaurants, spas, shops nearby but the garden is quiet and private. Trang and her staff made us most welcome and helped with all we needed! Hope to go back soon!

This is a beautiful villa. It is on the beach and convenient to bars and restaurants. Trang was exceptional. They took great care of us. We were traveling with a family of nine. The 5 bedrooms suited our needs perfectly. The breakfast was good. I highly recommend this villa.

We stayed four nights in August 2022. We stayed at the Lighthouse bungalow. The room was lovely. Great beds, bathroom, Aircon et cetera. Right by the beach. Trang was extremely helpful and organised lots of things for us and answered all of our queries. We had one evening meal there which was really delicious. The breakfast was good and all of the staff were so friendly. We would highly recommend it.

I stayed three nights in the “Lighthouse,” a two-story structure (with four bedrooms) on the beach. Being directly on the beach is a great advantage (and I’d stay here again). The rooms are simple (cinder block walls with thatch ceiling), but clean and spacious, with large windows and the sound of the ocean. (Putting in screens would be great, so you can have the doors open without letting bugs in.) Most of the good restaurants etc in An Bang are about a 10 minute walk north (and construction requires you to either walk on the beach or a couple blocks out of the way). It’s a short cab ride to Hoi An (and you’ll be happy not to be in the thick of it). The manager on duty (Trang) was super warm, inviting, helpful, and responsive. She had great recommendations, was always happy to summon a cab, and even brought me a banh mi on my last day when I didn’t have time for lunch. 

The rooms were spotless, and we really enjoyed meeting the family and the beautiful puppy Lucky. you can't beat the value for this price.
What we did not love however was the beach itself - pretty dirty sand and the water was quite unclean too. Still a good spot to stay if you want to visit Hoi An - just don't visit I think in August - I got heat stroke and was not even in the sun. And the evenings provided no relief whatsoever. Thank god for the air con!

We stayed one night at the ocean cabin and two nights at the avocado house. Our "host" Men gave us great advice on all our questions like restaurant recommendations, scooter rentals, good tailors in Hoi An etc. all of his recommendations were unbiased and we could look them up on tripadvisor.
He also rented the scooter for us, which made it half the price as normally for tourists and offered to buy fruits at the market since it would be cheaper for him as a local as well.
Thank you very much Men and Trang for all your advice and help. It made our stay at the beautiful houses even nicer and one of our best stays in Vietnam (3 Weeks vacation).

We had 3 self contained apartments very close to the beach and they were beautifully furnished and very comfortable.  Men and Ming took very good care of us, organised trips for us, did our laundry, and made our breakfast every morning.

Certainly worth a stay when you are visiting An Bang Beach.  We have come away feeling very relaxed.  

We stayed at the Lighthouse seaview property and it was perfect break from busy travelling! The house is in the quieter end of An Bang and is right on the ocean. The room was lovely and clean and very private. Trang, the manager did a great job, making us feel welcome and helping with restaurant reservations, transportation and recommending a wonderful tailor in Hoi An. Breakfast selected the night before and was prepared fresh every day, we had the Cau Lau every day and it was delishous! The beach is right out the back and is lovely and clean with lots of chairs to choose from, although they belong to the various restaurants so you need to buy at least a water if you want to use the chairs.  It was a short taxi ride into Hoi An and the night market, around 80,000-100,000 Dong each way. Taxis were always available out front to take us there. There are restaurants/ pubs adjacent to the property so lots of options for food & drink. We had a fantastic stay at this property, the perfect location for some beach relaxation and a beautiful city.

We spent 3 weeks in Vietnam in April 2019 and An Bang Seaside Village was the highlight. We stayed in the Avocado house and it was absolutely perfect. The bed was comfy and the shower was spectacular. There is also and outdoor shower for washing off the sand which was nice.  A short 1 minute walk down a sand path takes you to a beautiful beach. There are comfy lounge chairs and umbrellas available for a minimal ($1.50 per day) rental fee.  The water was lovely for swimming. Excellent restaurants (purple lantern was our favorite) in easy walking distance. Service was spectacular, and the breakfast brought to you each morning was a delight. Absolutely nothing bad to say. Stay here - yo will love it!

The first thing to mention is the people - Trang is the person who will look after you and balances her work with a young family and is very good and will sort anything for you (Ann thanks you for the preserved nectarines that now sit in our fridge in England).  I'v read some of the other comments and this place is built in a natural area so there will be creatures.  It is for travelers so expect the unexpected and adapt.  Its a basic and good place - solid wifi, good accommodation, nice beds, breakfast and you are looked after.  The owner has employed locals including a guy who acts as the papa to the house and sleeps in the garden to ensure all is safe.  The resort is booming and there are more spas than there are limbs to massage.  Lots of worryingly empty restaurants, but Trang can tell you the best.  Get a bike and head to Hoian day or night but come back to peace.  The beach is a minute away and lovey sea and waves and get a sun lounger, buy some drinks and have food on the beach and enjoy.  We had nine days here and thoroughly enjoyed it and nothing is too much trouble.  I did go for a jog one day and was accompanied by a rat, but heh, you are never more than six foot from a rat even in the west.
