I booked a room for my brother an I when we went to see Metallica in Grand Forks. When we got to the motel after the concert the office was locked and the lights were off. After knocking and ringing the doorbell for 5 minutes we ended up having to sleep in the car.

Never again...

Depends on what you're looking for. I had my doubts, but the room was clean, a bit cozy. They have repainted and new floor coverings so looks updated. We had a fridge and microwave. The room is nothing fancy, but met our needs for the night. It's a motel so your vehicle is right outside your door.

Nothing fancy

We recently went to  visit family in grafton and we had never stayed there. We knew we'd be getting in late so didn't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel. This motel was about the same price as the select inn in grafton. The staff was friendly and the room roomy enough for my family. The only critical thing I can comment on is the bathroom was not very clean..i went to bathe and there was a lot of hair in the tub I had to wipe out and sitting in the tub put me eye level with the dirty toilet aand all the hair it collected. Also sitting on the toilet you could see cigarette ashes in the heater. I do own a cleaning business so I tend to be picky about the bathrooms. We found it quite comical that there was a bottle opener on the bathroom door. :) Overall the room was a good place to stay. Since I didn't see wifi, or breakfast of that sorts offerered I would say their price range is a little high though.

A good place to rest your head

I have a difficult time with TripAdvisor's ratings, because they're not within the context of what a place is *trying* to be.  This is a good, inexpensive motel; but no one would ever put it in a "Very Good" category of lodging overall.

Anyway, got in during a very cold night recently.  Checked in, got my stuff in the room and found that a can of soda had burst in the back of my truck.  They were very nice in offering me some rags and cleaning solution to get that mess cleaned up.

The room was fine.  Warm, pretty good against the very cold night.  Clean, quite, the bed was pretty comfortable.

Surprisingly, they didn't have grounded outlets naturally wired in the room.  However, the mini fridge was plugged into a strip, so I was able to use that to plug in the laptop.

Overall, a nice inexpensive place.
