Needed a place to stay in Fort Edward while biking the Empire State trail. Reviews seemed mixed, so I was a little hesitant, but so glad I took the chance. The room was very clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. There was a slight smell of smoke due to people smoking outside the rooms. I’m very sensitive to smoke, and it wasn’t enough to bother me. Bring your own toiletries, as they only provide soap. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, safe, and reasonably priced place to stay, this is a good choice.

The manager was nice. Happy with the room and the bathroom was very nice. Would recommend.

The minute we walked in to room 7, exhausted from travel, my spirits were lifted...it felt so homey and welcoming....I saw quilts on the beds, quaint lamps on a dresser and table with marble tops underneath. A wooden table in the room had two nice red leather chairs. The wood floor was nice and the room had a tv, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. The pictures on the wall were of flowers, and a vintage map of NY City. All that was great.....but oh, the bathroom...black, grey and white tiles....just adorable. Soaps and shampoos, a hair dryer. a little small in that area, but OH the shower.....room for two, with at least 7 possible shower heads to choose....once you figure them out...felt like luxury. Complaints? No ice provided? So we filled some of the cups with water and put them in the freezer. My thing is CLEAN, and it was. Not too sure about the placement of the AC, but it has many settings and worked fine. Outside light was out, so a tiny bit hard to find at night, but the price was low, and we will be back.

Considering it was not new the renovations made the accommodations better than new. Excellent room!

From the outside the Spring Motor Inn looks like a typical "roadside motel", but upon entering you will find an extremely clean, very modern room. The shower is absolutely fantastic and looks like something you would find in a very expensive hotel. The wifi is slow but that did not interfere with our stay. If I had one suggestion it would be to have lights on either side of the (comfortable) bed for reading.  The room was quiet and although it was close to the road, we couldn't hear any traffic. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

Motor Inn seems to be mid upgrade.  Brand new bathroom, very nice, but the TV is circa 1990.  Route is a bit heavy on truck traffic, so a room away from the road would be a better choice if you are a light sleeper.

The Inn is just outside the sweet little town of Fort Edward, a town where I would feel safe walking around at night. The room was clean, with a very interesting layout. I can say I have never seen a room layout like it, and I'm not sure if all rooms are the same or not. The layout is this; as you open the room door, you're facing the door to the toilet (not the bathroom, just a closet with a toilet.) Then to the right is the bed, mini-fridge, tv and antique love-seat. Across from the foot of the bed is the sink and mirror, with soap, towels, cups and hairdryer. A little hallway leads to a gigantic shower room with two shower-heads.  The room was clean and quiet, and I would definitely feel comfortable staying there again.

We didn’t expect this little motel has such a nice modern shower system.

Adorable, homey and Clean, clean, clean!

Don't let the outside appearance of this Inn fool you!

Visiting family in the area limited our hotel options to what would be convenient to their location, so with some skepticism and hope for a clean old fashioned hotel we stayed 5 nights here.

Pros: quiet, safe (near police station), lovely luxury baths, mini fridge was provided by request in advance of check in, ample parking, convenient to the family we were visiting, room was relatively clean at check in, air conditioning worked very well.

Cons: no hairdryer, no iron or ironing board, no extra blankets for bed, limited tv options (would have enjoyed a kid friendly cartoon channel for kids), housekeeping was not done each day (towels replaced only 3 of 5 days), no vacuuming of floors while we there, which I thought should be included for the price, beds were adequate but squeaky.

I travel quite a bit to many types of properties and realize this is an older hotel in a small town and adjusted my expectations accordingly.  I think by increasing the housekeeping effort and adding the hairdryer, iron, etc., the hotel could be greatly improved.
