My husband and our 2 year old daughter planned a trip to cape May and we are so happy we stayed at The Southwinds!! We stayed in their apartment style unit that has two bedrooms, which was perfect for our little family! Our unit was clean and we could instantly tell that the owners take great care of the rooms to make sure their guest feel comfortable.   The shower pressure was also amazing which is something that is very important to me.  

The hotel is walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach and we didn’t need to use our car during our stay.  We travel a lot as a family and have stayed in many hotels and The Southwinds by far is one of our new favorite places to stay.  We cannot wait to plan our trip to visit next year and we plan on booking the same room.

The Southwinds was the perfect place to stay for our long weekend trip. The rooms were beautiful and very clean, and the location was perfect—just a short walk to the beach. I had a few work calls to take on Friday, and the separate living space with a couch and table made it really comfortable to get some work done. That space would also be great for someone with kids. 

Overall, we’re definitely planning to return to the Southwinds. The recently updated interior, location, and friendly management team made our stay perfect!

Cute Inn, perfect for weekend getaway!

Loved our stay. The rooms were large and even had a separate living area that would’ve been great for a kids area and pack n play. Little kitchen area. Very clean and comfortable. Small things but nice- water pressure was great and beds were comfortable. Walkable to the beach and a nice quiet area. The staff was friendly. No complaints. Will be back again. 

Nice beach stay 

We spent a lovely weekend at the South Winds with friends. The rooms were very spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The staff was very responsive and tended to our needs with professionalism. You can't beat this location, which is short walking distance to the beach and very close to all the shops and restaurants. In sum, would highly recommend staying at the South Winds!

Great time at the South Winds!

Such a great hotel! The rooms are adorable and come with a kitchenette which is so nice. The staff all have smiles on their faces. It’s walking distance to the beach and tons of cute restaurants and shops. I had such a great experience I’ll definitely be coming back.

Happy beachy hotel

This was a last minute weekend and finding availability in Cape May was not easy. I found South Winds on Trip Advisor and it sounded ok for us. It’s a smaller older motel a few blocks from the historic section. It is well maintained and very clean. It’s only 1/2 block from the beach so it’s very convenient as well has having off street parking which is a god send down there. You could see they had done a superficial upgrade to the rooms with newer furniture and flooring. The tub was old and not in the best shape but certainly usable. When we entered the room on arrival there was a strong odor of cleaning solution or deodorizer; we opened the windows and it quickly disappeared   We had a kitchenette with small frig, stove, microwave, and kitchen utensils which was very nice to have. There is no pool but there are picnic tables and charcoal grills available. The area is quiet and the room clerk professional and polite. If you don’t mind a few minute walk to the visitor area of Cape May this is a nice little hideaway

Nice quiet motel

Hardly the fanciest place in the world, or in Cape May. But a warm and friendly welcome, clean, comfortable, nice space with living room and a little kitchen, and you're all of a minute or two from the beach. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Place to Stay

The room was very clean and the staff was helpful and attentive to our needs. The location was PERFECT and we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go..including the beautiful beach! We plan to make this an annual girls’ trip. 😊🏖

Will definitely be back!!

We were there this past week and had a great time.  We recommend The South Winds to all our friends and family because of the exceptional service we received.  The room was clean and spacious.  The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.  It was a few minutes walk to the beach.  We recommend to anyone visiting Cape May.

Great Place super friendly service

My friend and I had such a great stay at the south winds!! Right by the beach probably about a 5 minute walk! Close and convenient location to everything. Room was clean and spacious. Air conditioning is great and cools down the entire room. Mark, Sharon and Vince were very accommodating and made our stay feel like home! Would definitely stay here again!!!
