The Steamer Inn

Welcoming, hard working and professional staff. W enjoyed a sea view room with a balcony. We were able to check in early and shown to the room. Local maps, guides and bus time tables were available. The bathroom was tiled top to toe and the shower excellent.This is a good pub with accommodation above and good pub food. It is not The Ritz, nor does it pretend to be and offers a great location and reasonable prices.The breakfast was substantial, although we would have preferred a few lighter offerings such as yoghurt and fruit and/or cereals, but that is just our personal taste.Booking on the Hotels.Com site was a little confusing. The booking form had an Amex symbol and accepted the transaction. We then got a bounce back saying the payment had failed. On checking, they do not accept Amex. Not a problem, but it would have been nice to have been told this up front, so we could have used another card straight away. Maybe Hotels.Com could amend this.
