Beautiful spot above a nice family beach. Small hotel with restaurant. Very nice menu and staff friendly.

Lovely hotel with good food, cocktails, and friendly staff. Amazing views. Only negative is they don't do twin rooms

The pub is Marstons brewery so they have no control over menu or drinks, this is a great shame as the local produce would offer excellent meals both healthy and not feel like the chain which it is.Food; we did have problems with a few dishes but we raised them at the time and it was rectified. Overall really nice, just a shame there was not a lot available as in off menu,  and no healthy options.Service: the staff are lovely and friendly, a lot was going on internally and things were going wrong but all were very jolly about it and I can’t say it impacted negatively on our stay. It was slow at times, and this was frustrating as a lot of people were sat down discussing issues rather than serving but no wait was longer than 10mins or so. It wasn’t welcoming on arrival, a few of the younger staff clearly didn’t want to be there. A more mature lady server however was great to chat with, fun and professional.Drinks; it’s a real ale pub that had 1 real ale on draught, happily a nice ale but disappointing to not have choice. Cocktails excellent and good wine list.Room; nice coffee, clean, outstanding view and lovely to be able to open balcony doors and window. Dolphins can be seen from here, binoculars a must!It is a busy pub, run with lovely people so I would say if there’s a problem, tell them as they do sort things out and very cheerfully. We plan to return annually, if Marstons can cater for some salads and lower calorie options that would be great! Very special place.

A lovely relaxed stay in a stunningly beautiful location

Staff Willow, Betsy & Kate, are brilliant and made our stay amazing! Willow even brought in an iron in from her home, as the iron at the Ship had gone missing. We’ve already booked to return later in the year. Highly recommended, other ship is in a great location, with a view that is priceless.

Great position overlooking beach and sea.  Staff were exceptional,  especially Hayley, the manageress. Food was tasty and well presented.If you plan to stay,  book a balcony room. Great to stand on watching and listening to the ocean.

Superb visit as location is very close to beach and also has a very good restaurant so no need to travel out in evening for somewhere to eat.

We were greeted by the most friendly gentleman, who checked us in, offered to take our bags and showed us to our room. He asked if we would like a table for dinner and invited us to join in with the quiz. The food was delicious, the waiting staff knowledgeable, chatty and even the other customers were friendly too.

A special shout out to Tom the waiter who went above and beyond serving us in the pub, he was the only worker doing his job on Sunday 9th march 25, his manager sat chatting to public all shift or out the front having a vape, while Tom was running around catering for everyone all on his own. Never once complained and had a smile all shift.

A hidden gem

Visited here three times while we were staying in Aberporth. It has a great outlook to the sea, was a fantastic place to have a pit stop mid-walk or saunter down for food. Has my fave Carlsberg lager and some good local ales. Had Halloumi flatbreads both food visits, just so nice, drizzled with a maple syrup, who knew!! Service was a bit slow as not many staff on but we were happy waiting, chilled on hols, the team was very friendly. One of our fave places to eat on our hols.

Great views, great beer, great food.

We stayed in this fantastic location over looking the beach for three days. Despite the bad parking problems the staff always made sure we had a place to park right at the front of the hotel. The cooked breakfast and Sunday  lunch we had were great and the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Although they were extremely busy they were polite and helpful especially Dylan. The place needs a face lift though our bedroom was clean and spacious overlooking the beach. Fabulous views!

Just back from 3 nights at the Shipp Inn. All staff were very friendly, helpful and polite and nothing was to much trouble. We had 3 meals here and can only say that the food was very good, however there were issues around availability of some items on the menu each evening. The accommodation is in need of a little attention although it was very comfortable and adequate. Would recommend and will visit again if in the area.

Nice short break

0ur stay at the Ship Inn was excellent, staff were excellent, food was very good with a good selection of dishes. Bedroom was very comfortable, clean and great amenities. I would stay there again, really enjoyed its location, the beautiful views.Only negative was due to our stay being in February, out of season, the bar was shut at 9.30pm on a Friday night due to being very quiet. I personally think regardless of trade if you are residing in the Ship Inn that the bar should be available for usual open hours for hotel guests. After all you are paying to stay in a place that advertises the bar as a selling point and to be expected to be back in your room for 9.30 as the facilities have shut is not what you'd expect when booking to stay above a bar.

Had a lovely Christmas lunch here. 

Prosecco apéritif,

Mushroom soup served with lightly toasted chiabata.

Followed by Sea bream , tenderstem broccoli, crushed potato and lemon butter. 

And traditional Christmas pudding and custard for dessert. 
Rounded off with an espresso coffee.

My husband and I were very happy with our meal served in a happy , unrushed yet attentive manner.

Wow! Gotta say we have recvd the warmest of warm welcomes by your Team! Alex was so kind, warm & professional in his looking after us & caring that on arrival our room was ready & to the highest of standards! Molly was the perfect host too, serving us wonderful, hot & tasty food, the best drinks - what a gem you have in her - so knowlegeable about your menu/food availability! Jack & Betsi too - both wonderful, attentive & kind additions to the team! We are having the most wonderful 3 day break - all due to their kindness & attention to detail - we thoroughly recommend here & will be back soon, all being well! Wow! What more could we ask for?! What a Team of Staff you have here!

What an amazing find! Such an gorgeous little pub, great choice of food. We had steak, fish, sausage and pie. Puddings were delicious too; crumble, brownie, cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Ate it all too quickly to take any photos!

Very friendly staff, particularly Hayley who was very accommodating with my Dad’s unusual requests with his pint!!! Wish we could have spent longer there. We will be back one day, but will book so we can have the tables near the window.
