Top hotel, Jill and Linda fantastic hosts, nothing too much trouble, arranged everything in our room from the flowers I had ordered for my wife to the bottle of champers my son and daughter had asked the hotel to provide, Jill and Linda left us an anniversary card with a large box of Italian chocolates, a very nice touch. 
Hotel has a superb location in the town, not too noisy but ideally situated for all amenities in walking distance. Secure parking to rear of hotel, with automated barrier.
Breakfast is superb, you will not go hungry here, all quality food served and freshly cooked.

I spend a lot of time on the road for work and i can honestly say the Highgate Hotel is a great place to stay. I don't often leave reviews but felt that this little gem of a hotel needs to be on peoples radar if they are thinking of staying in the Kendal area. Linda and Jill are fantastic hosts that make the stay special. There is an old fashioned charm about the hotel which has everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one with the added benefit of a secure car park. Plenty of local amenities within walking distance  include a variety of pubs, restaurants and convenience shops as well as having the brewery arts centre including cinema next door. Already looking forward to my next stay.

What do you want from your B&B? Amazing location? A warm welcome? Great room? Fabulous breakfast? Then get booking! I cannot praise Linda and Jill enough for making me so welcome when I stay. It really is like a home from home and I can't wait to return. See you again soon!

Thank you Linda, our room was clean, as was the bathroom. The breakfast couldn't be better. It's ideal location and secure parking.
Walking out from the hotel, there are many restaurants and other places to eat. During the day you can easily walk to shops, coffee bars and pubs.

Stayed 2 nights in Highgate Hotel whilst touring lakes on motorbikes. Fantastic central location with secure car park. 
Stayed in room 10 (family room) on top floor which is very spacious (for 2 people). Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. 
Lovely down to earth lady runs Hotel who is very friendly. (So are the 2 cats). 

The location is great, right in the heart of town. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. The room was compact with everything spotless. Breakfast was great with a full offering. Great place for a walking holiday.

Stayed for 2 nights in July 2017.  Warm welcome from the manager and owner.  Very friendly, good food, very clean.  Old building so quite quirky floors and doors but adds to the character.  Location is great for pubs and restaurants - and there are many :)
Secure on site parking which is a must.
Would def stay again.
