The Pilsley Inn

We needed to get away for a few days not too far from home, my other half found this place to stay and eat, it was a wise choice, lovely area, small but OK room,great place to eat, small number of items but all we tried were above par, meats very good and always a large portion, cooked well. The staff were great, we immediately felt at home and nothing was too much trouble, they have decent beer too ( Timothy Taylors Landlord and Chatsworth gold I tried), I am not a wine drinker so I can not really comment on the wines, but those who did seemed satisfied. There is close by, the Chatsworth estate which is well worth a visit, something for everyone. Would we go again ? yes we would, the price of one meal , eg the beef was 29 UK pounds, but it was well worth it, there were other items on the menu which were alittle less, eg Burger which a guest stated was one of best they had. The Breakfast was good, not too much but well made, they passed the" porridge test," it was a good.
