Honestly what a great place food was amazing best we all had on the whole trip. The host and staff where brilliant. Enjoyed great food , great drinks and played cards most of the night. Rooms where spot on for the money. Was made to feel right at home. Great parking for our motorbikes. Need more places like this in the UK. Wish you all the best.

Had a fantastic 2 night stay at the Teesdale and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We ate both nights and the food was amazing. Our stay was room only so we paid extra for breakfast and it was worth every penny. Everything was great thank you x

I've stayed here several times and enjoyed it every time, and this time not the least. You could say the rooms are a little bit dated, or instead you could say they are traditional, spacious and comfortable. I like them just as they are.
Food was good, and the restaurant pleasant - better to eat there than in the bar, if you can.
Highly recommended.

I have used this on a number of occasions, finding it more than acceptable.
However March 2024 is the first time I have been able to have a proper meal since the covid fiasco.
Very few places offer rare and well done roast beef.

I cannot stress how delicious the food is here.
The change of decor, and bar changes is inspiring, and the staff are quiet, and competent and I if I praise this place any further, I may find myself unable to book for Sunday lunch! It will packed out!

Just had an evening meal in the restaurant. I had the Pork Belly and it was amazing, my husband had the ox cheek and was equally impressed.The atmosphere was so relaxed,  the log burner was on next to us. What a find!! We will definitely be back. Thoroughly recommend.

I was tempted to try the new a la carte menu having seen a recent positive review online. Special occasion for me so I wanted to mark it with a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere with my owld dog Max. I was delighted with every aspect of my evening. The meal-stone bass, black rice, cavallo nero, clams (I think?) and the squid ink tuille (a revelation!) was superb, the staff (chef Mark and gals Clara and Verity) were so friendly and hospitable, nothing was too much bother for any of them. I came home feeling very pleased that my little celebration was made such a great experience thanks to all at the Teesdale Hotel xxR 

Absolutely fantastic, as simple as that. The staff, each and every one, were excellent. So friendly and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were generous and tasty. Yes there is the odd loose door handle and paint chip but don't let those wee things put you off. £ for £ you won't get better.

Everything was superb. Room spacious, clean and a great long bath, we love to bathe after a long walk and this one was tremendous, loads of hot water and perfect for my tall husband. We had dinner bed and breakfast deal and we thought we'd get standard pub food, I am a fussy food teacher and I loved the meals. Monkfish and scallops to start so good, mains cooked beautifully and high quality. Desserts excellent, flavoured profiteroles and chocolate pudding. Wine list high quality and service excellent. Breakfast was also superb. We walked from the hotel up into the hills and the scenery is stunning. We will be back.  

Friendly greeting guaranteed on arrival.  Excellent beers available.  Food is delicious - last Sunday's roast beef lunch was excellent.  Beef was both tender and tasty served with delicious roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, carrots, broccoli and peas.  Also had their luxury fish pie - again tasty with loads of fish.  This restaurant is well worth a visit, without any heitation I would recommend this fine establishment.

10/10 for Sunday lunch, I had chicken, hubby had pork,   2 lg Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, 4 different vegetables all fresh, extra gravey boat, then finished off with lemon reulard, with ice cream, hubby had sticky toffee pudding ( home made) with custard. All for under £30, great value, plenty of it, we even got the dog a special meal just for him for £2•50, instead of him wanting some of ours, great idea !
Fast, efficient service too, will definitely be back. Thank you.

Teesdale Hotel new a la carte menu 

Reminded me of the Victorian style hotels of my youth. The staircase has had the carpet removed as had a section of the upper hallway to save money? Quaint old door handles and locks - the aunt from the 'Bewitched' series would have a field day (she collected doorknobs). No lampshades in our small room.  Slept well, clean and had all the essentials. We had a meal that was good and the selection of beers was fine. The staff were exceptional and brekfast was a treat, just enough food, well cooked and very tasty. The lady who served us was a true credit to the hotel, polite, attentive, considerate, etc. To top it all she has climbed all of Scotland's Munro's. Prices were good and reflect the standards of the decor.
