This was the most wonderful bed & breakfast we have ever stayed in.  Tim & Vicki were incredible hosts, so helpful with ideas for town, getting around, hikes, restaurants, and even helped book us a mini van tour last minute.   Lovely homestyle breakfast, made to order!  What a wonderful experience, my daughter and I look forward to coming here again!

The Fir Trees Guest House is ideally located for a lovely time in the Lakes.
Tim & Vicki are brilliant hosts and will do anything to make your stay memorable.
The breakfasts are cooked fresh and very enjoyable. We found it was ideal for seeing the Lake District. Both  Windermere and Bowness have some lovely places to 
eat.

Stayed here in October 24. Fantastic Guesthouse - nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, Vicki and Tim. Excellent value considering the location and quality of the breakfast. Will stay here again the next time we visit the Lakes. Thanks Vicki and Tim.

Friendly and attentive hosts who make every effort to ensure you enjoy your stay. Centrally located it is an easy walk into both Windermere and Bowness. Food excellent and rooms immaculate so perfect for visiting and touring the Lake District.

Very warm welcome from Vicki and Tim.  Quality of service is first class.  Rooms very clean and well-spaced out. Breakfast is particularly good with local produce and sets you up for the day.   Location is ideal for both Windermere and Bowness walks out on an evening to grab a meal.  Lovely warm and welcoming foyer. hallway and stairs.

Fantastic guest house situated short walk and equidistant between Windermere and Bowness. 

Our room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast was great.

We stayed in room 8, which is labelled a ‘small double’ however it is a perfectly adequately sized bedroom with a large bathroom with an amazingly powerful shower. 
Vicki and Tim were fabulous hosts who go above and beyond to endure their guests have a comfortable stay. They offered us a slightly earlier breakfast on the day they knew we wanted to set off early to climb Scafell Pike and the breakfasts were amazing, especially the poached eggs and the blueberry pancakes. There were also plenty of complementary snacks such as fruit and homemade flapjacks and the milk and water in the room’s mini fridge were replenished daily. 
Location is also convenient as it’s walking distance from both Windermere and Bowness. There’s also free parking. 
Overall, amazing B&B and will certainly be back next time we visit the Lake District.

Great Easter Weekend stay! The room was spacious, great selection of hot drinks and free flapjacks/fruit. The shower was spectacular, the pressure and amount of water felt amazing! Breakfast was very filling, perfect to set you up for a day at the Lakes.

Vicki and Tim made my latest visit to the Lakes such a memorable one. Their property is amazing, my room was like home (the bed was better than my own!), and don’t get me started on the shower... absolute bliss to start the day! I slept so well for 3 nights solid which is unusual for me when I’m away from home and my own comforts. 

The breakfast cooked by Tim every morning was outstanding and the choice was superb. Vicki was more than happy to help me with multiple walking ideas before setting off for the day, Wansfell was very enjoyable (despite the wind!) following her recommended route. She even had a map and some books out to give me plenty of options. 

The location of Fir Trees literally perfect! Ten minutes in one direction and you’re in Windermere centre, ten minutes in the other direction and you’re in Bowness. The onsite parking was an added bonus and very convenient. 

Tim and Vicki were always around when needed and really knowledgeable and helpful with any questions and suggestions. I’m already looking at booking a week away in the summer and spending some more time at the Fir Trees. Without doubt the best B&B I’ve ever stayed at in Windermere. Highly recommended. Thanks again both!

Our 4th visit to Fir Trees which just about says it all!!! The bedroom and bathroom are immaculately clean and attention to detail from Tim is 2nd to none . Breakfast is of high quality and the wife loves the American pancakes ( myself the English is spot on ! ) 
Both Tim and Vicky are always so welcoming, friendly and genuine.Both can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable.( Even booked us a restaurant after a good debate on which was the best Indian) 
If you want a stress free break with great hosts then don't hesitate to book ! Thanks for your hospitality!

One of the best experiences of the Lake District in 40 years…

4th visit as good as the 1st !

This is a very well situated BnB between Windermere and Bowness in the Lake Dsitrict and is an easy short walk either way.  We stayed in one of the smaller rooms and it was just perfect for the two of us.  The complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk , water and home baked British flapjack in our room was a special treat as well as fresh fruit and flapjacks to help yourself to in the foyer.  The breakfast was one like no other.  We had full English breakfast each of the two mornings we were there with freshly brewed tea and coffee.  Also plenty of cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. Having said all of that the best part of all were the owners Tim and Vicki.  They are superb hostesses, very willing to help out with suggestions and helpful hints to help you enjoy the stay in the area and so welcoming and friendly.  Will be back again one day!  Just can’t say enough great things about this lovely place. 

A stay to remember!  Excellent accommodations. 

Our second time staying here at this gorgeous bed & breakfast, the guest house was very clean. We stayed for five nights in room 4 which was a super king size bedroom with fridge which had complimentary  fresh milk every day and bottled water, with tea and coffee facilities nice touch not forgetting the lovely flapjacks too made by Tim. The bed was really comfy, the rainfall shower was brilliant the water pressure was great.

Breakfast was amazing really sets you up for the rest of the day, choice of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, full English, or fluffy pancakes which were yummy. bacon butty, tea, coffee and juice. certainly don't need any lunch.

Vicki and Tim are fantastic hosts who can't do enough for you, really make you feel at home. Fir trees is in an ideal location to walk into Bowness 15 mins or Windermere 15 mins, its also on a bus route.

We would highly recommend the Fir trees for your visit to the lakes we certainly will be doing to our family and friends.

Excellent Guesthouse

Fir Trees is a beautiful property in a great location. Vicky and Tim are the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. Our room had a luxurious bathroom and a lovely view over the garden The breakfast was excellent with quality local products cooked to order. The complimentary homemade flapjack, spring water and fresh milk was really appreciated. Can't wait for our next visit. 

Luxury in The Lakes

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at fir trees and would definitely recommend it. Room is lovely, really clean, comfy bed, with your own fridge, tv and daily flapjacks and fresh milk. Breakfast is to a very high standard, we have one who is gluten and dairy free and Tim and Vicky made a pancake mix specially. Location is great too right in the middle of Bowness and Windermere so an easy walk.

Definitely recommend staying here and will book in again soon
