budget menu, friendly staff, centrally located at the heart of town, cheap accomodation, good wifi conectivity and worth the visit, give it a try, local foods available with typical Acholi foods for you

my review of the place

rooms very small, old facilities, water problems, no AC, hot room, poor breakfast, looks nice outside but much to do inside. i cant understand the rate it has in tripadvisor. its near main street, so noisy.

waste of money

Very much a cheap and cheerful hotel. We arrived late to Gulu so had not choice about where we stayed but this is definitely not one we will be returning to. They had a preacher in the conference room with only 5 people listening but being blasted through speakers so loud it made the floor vibrate. I'm sure people in Kenya would have been able to hear him. We approached the counter manager who said he couldn't do anything before taking matters into our own hands and telling the preacher that God (and his five listeners) can still hear him with or without deafeningly loud speakers. Much nicer options just outside the main strip for the same money so look around if you have time. Oh and our room didn't even have a window which added to the prison cell feeling of the room.

Extremely loud and cramped hotel

Good services but rooms extremely tiny as well as the beds. Nowhere to hang clothes or cabinets. Customer service was great, WiFi Was Available, instant shower, TV set old model. Buffet breakfast & dinner inclusive

We stayed here as a family had double rooms with clean duvets , nice and friendly staff , best value for money hotel , quality services I must say it’s such a beautiful place .
The best pork in town ,
I had encounter with the management team very professional .
We love the local dishes and amazing heavy breakfast , we will defiantly go back .

Best hotel in Gulu 

I can say the service is worth the pay. I spent one night when i was on transit from Moyo to Karamoja. I took one of the rooms on the top  most floor. The rooms were clean, and neat and they had Wi-Fi. Also had hot water flowing. My fare for the night also included dinner and breakfast which was a plus. If ever I am in Gulu again, this is the place to stay.

Great service!

I stayed at Freezone for two and a half weeks in a single room. The wifi is excellent - strong enough for good quality video skype, and there is a back up generator which came on almost immediately when the power went out. My shower was pretty hot, the beds have nets, and they also provide a very reasonably priced laundry service. The security is good - although it's worth noting that the hotel does lock up pretty early (before 10pm) so it's worth letting reception know if you're going to be out late. It can be noisy but the sound of the fan in the room easily blocks out any noise from the street. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Freezone as having all the services you need for a very reasonable price. The restaurant could have more choice, but there are plenty of other food options close by.

great hotel, centrally located

I had three nights in this hotel ,the quality of the rooms is fine with excellent hygiene , free wireless internet the Manager Mr. Brian gave me the password and was very helpfull during my stay . I would definitely come back to this hotel.

Exceptional Service in Gulu

The hotel is quite new and very well located, in the very center of Gulu, in a very quiet area in the northern part. Going from the hotel you can go to the main market and to the most popular cafes and restaurants in Gulu. The bus station in Kampala is also very close to the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, The hotel has a restaurant where good food is served, the restaurant is frequented by both locals and tourists and every night there is a good atmosphere. The service is very friendly and currently the best quality price for accommodation in Gulu.
