We stayed here two nights because of the bad weahter. The price per night (€53) was way too high. The rooms are simple. You have to bring you're own blankets and towels.  The building is a bit scary and very noisy.

Hostel / look a like prisson rooms

Very worn down hostel. At booking the pictures showed a cottage, but it was a room at a hostel. Communication and check-in/check-out was good.

Worn down hostel

There are two reasons for this extremely negative review. (1) We booked a small room with 4 beds and a shared bathroom. Among the +35 pictures, only 1 picture showed this type of room - and only from inside. All others showed cabins - small and big, from outside and inside. Our "cabin" turned out to be a room - next to about 30 others - in a barrack-type housing complex, not closely resembling any of the pictures on Hotels.com. When I made the lady at the reception aware, she insisted that I should have paid more attention to the small letters, when I made the booking. But she admitted that many people come with that complaint. Well, maybe it's because you are promoting these rooms on Hotels.com in a grossly misleading way?? (2) The linen in the room had holes in it and was not cleaned (with hairs and dead insects on it). When we made the reception aware of this, they gave us the key to another room - where we found the same situation. In the end, we refused to stay in this dirty and unpleasant room and - instead - set up our tent on the campsite, in spite of our late arrival time (which is why we had wanted a cabin). The campsite is lovely (located next to a beautiful lake), with a very clean washroom. But having paid almost 80 eur (not refundable) for an uncleaned room in a barrack left a very negative impression.

Big disappointment!

Beautifully by the lake Halen you can put up your tent, park your camper van or motor-home or rent a cabin here. There is a good restaurant and small kiosk. They also have normal facilities like kitchen, launderette etc.

Very nice campsite

Not recommended but if you go be ready for sneaky ways for the camping to charge you extra. We paid twice from the usual cost compared to other camping sites. Owners very dismissing about this.
Paying happens at payout so difficult to avoid this kind of treatment.

Scam camping

Beautiful campground right in the middle of a nature reserve. But incredible bad choice to do mayor ground renovations over a whole week (our holiday) in middle July. Who wants to wake up every morning at 7am from 2 big baggers renovating the beach and big wheel saws cutting on asphalt right beside the tent/caravan.People understand necessary maintenance like grass cutting. But mayor renovation during the main season? When I can not hear the birds in the morning due to baggers and can not sleep in the evening due to screaming danes close to midnight where the owner does nothing, the nicest facilities simply don't matter. Remark, for a whole week!

Nice campground but mayor renovations during full week starting at 7am makes for bad holiday

The square and the parking lots are very nice. The sanitation facilities are of the highest standard, which is really great. There is a restaurant and a youth hostel in the square. Until noon it is very nice and quiet and you can enjoy the time with the family. From the afternoon on, it feels like all the surrounding people are coming here to bathe. Everywhere is loud music from different nations. And that right in front of the trailer. That's very annoying. If the place were just for camping guests, it would be a wonderful place. We probably won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, not just camping guests

The bigger huts were quite good and the smaller huts were very basic, but we had nasty experiences with management.  The huts have paper towels and paper sheets - for which you have to pay extra - but the toilets have no paper ... and you have to pay for the showers!  The wifi will last for only one short session and then you can't log on again, and the manager will refuse to give you another logon code. Both the lady who runs the camp and her boss, were very rude to us, accusing us of lying etc. (and we had brought 26 people to stay here).  In 2012 I spent 3 months travelling across Russia and never encountered rudeness like this!  The cafe is separately managed and was quite nice, but please, readers, try to stay somewhere else.

Avoid this place

Nice surroundings, good reception, clean toilet and bathing facilities. Canoe rental was perfect with good materials and explanation. The beach was clean. The places on the campsite were big (>100m2). Site was relaxed.
