Veraima Kandy

Great place to stay, relaxed jungle environment in a perfect location for just outside Kandy, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  Staff are attentive and made our stay a memorable one. Will certainly return if visiting Kandy in the future 🙌

We have  stayed a couple of days in this special place. And we can highly recommend this place as we were highly/ very friendly looked after  by the owner Manjul and his friendly staff. We did not have to worry about anything during our stay in regards to organising trip, sightseeing etc. Many thanks to you guys for making our stay at this place unforgettable. Beautiful place. The manager hooked us up with a great yoga instructor(saman) and also a private trekking tour gide(andrew). 
Very High ceiling, Toilet is spacious, balcony is relaxing.

What a great location - you feel like you're in a tropical forest (with cocoa trees) but you're in the middle of Kandy! The hotel manager and his team were very accommodating- from our early breakfast to finding driver accommodation to giving us a range of really useful tips. We sadly didn't have time to use the pool or have dinner there but we'd 100% go back for a longer stay.

Fantastic place with the friendliest of staff . Every request was catered for. We did the cookery class with them which involved going to the market and buying all the ingredients needed then making the dishes back at the hotel . We had a fantastic time making six different curries and then eating them .  Delicious!  The staff were fantastic and they even provided a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast for us after our request.  The only thing to make it better would’ve been a small fridge in the room , otherwise it was Perfect 

We didn't actually stay at the hotel during our stay in Kandy but when we come back we definitely will. We met the owner, Manju, because there was a strike and we couldn't get the train from Kandy to Ella. Manju offered to drive us instead and was the best driver and tour guide over the next 4 days. He drove us to Kandy through the tea plantations to Ella, stayed whilst we explored there for 2 days and then took us on to Yala and then Tangalle. He has been in the tourist business for years and knows all the best places to visit or stop and see along the way, advised on where to stay and which safari to do, etc. More than that though, he is a really great guy and we enjoyed his company and our conversations over the days we spent with him. We learnt so much about the local areas we drove through (Manju would suddenly stop and go to a roadside stall and buy us the local fruits & delicacies as we were travelling) and about the country as a whole. He really added so much to our experience and we are truly grateful to have met him.
If you need a driver we would 100% recommend Manju and his hotel looks just beautiful, just on the other side of the river from central Kandy.

We stayed 2 nights in Veraima guesthouse. The owner and his friend gave us a really warm welcome. The rooms where big and clean. Breakfast is more then enough with juice, fruits, omelette and toast. The second day the owner gave us a private tour in Kandy. He showed us a lot beautiful places in Kandy. We highly recommend this guesthouse. Thanks for everything! We enjoyed our stay. Sri Lanka is amazing.

We arrived to find our current booking closed. At 11pm at night and after a long drive we would have eventually found somewhere to stay but the Hotel Veraima saved us and our holiday. It is well priced, we had an excellent double room with ensuite and view of the pool.
Narleka makes an excellent breakfast and always makes your plans for the day excellent with great tips and advice. He's around 24/7 and always very cheery. We loved the balcony for breakfast, looking straight out to the jungle canopy but a little too much noise as the property is on the bend the traffic wakes us at 5am. We got used to it. Turn the fan up, and walk in the day, you'll be too tired.
They keep the place spotless and parking was never a problem. Kandy is 250-300sr by tuk Tuk. Highly recommend the buffet and infinite pool up the road at Thilanka Hotel.

When I found myself sick in Kandy, I spontaneously booked this hotel to recover in peace. It was such a lucky find! Super friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and comfortable rooms. The best for me though was the view from my balcony: dense green foliage with a huge variety of birds and other forest animals. Saw Hornbills and giant squirrels right in front of my balcony! Thank you for your great hospitality!

We spent 5 days in this hotel. It’s located 10 minutes from Kandy city, which is ideal distance. We visited many interesting places nearby: Sighiriya, Tea terraces, spice garden, Buddhas tooth temple and Kandys view point. Owner and staff were really helpfull and friendly, they helped us a lot with organizing trips and gave us good shopping tips. Owner also took us to shopping mall in Kandy or helped us order a TukTuk for a good price. Accomodation was comfy, clean and calm. Breakfast was amaizing and sometimes we ordered a dinner. Really recommend chicken cheese pasta, really delitious. Really recommend it!

Its a relatively new place. Rooms are spacious and clean.
Dinner wes really good. Kotu of course.
Host is really helpfull.

Now some minuses...

Ants. Arround my bed. Small ones. Not annoying but if you hate them...
Noise. Busy noisy traffic sound from the road.
Location. Far away from citycentre. Take tuktuk. 
Water. Ther was no water un the morning. Some pipe was broken?! Owner offered us another room to do the morning hygiene
