Garni Hotel Siesta

We pulled into Nova Gorica looking for a room for the night and pulled up in front of one of the casinos. I actually checked the price at the casino room prices and decided not to bother, even though I was intrigued by the idea of free entry to the casino. We were stumped which way to go, so I asked a taxi driver if he spoke English which he did and did he know of any cheap rooms for the night, again, he did. The taxi driver then phoned the hotel for us and told the reception to expect us and he gave us written directions to the hotel. If the taxi driver ever reads this, thank you for your help. Tip for the future, if stuck, find a taxi driver. The Motel (rather than hotel) was in the more industrial side of town, but not far from the centre. It had typical motel layout, with individual rooms accessed from outside (no problems with disabled access) and a central bar which doubled as the breakfast room. The room was basic, but clean, comfy bed, air-conditioned, double glazed, spacious shower / toilet room. It didn't serve food but the receptionist recommended a fantastic restaurant about a mile away (see my other reviews for a review about the restaurant). The breakfast was a very basic continental breakfast. For travelers it is ideal, a comfortable bed for the night, though it may not suit those who wanted the bright lights.
