My recent stay at La Dolce Vita in Baile Herculane was an enchanting experience that left me feeling rejuvenated and utterly content. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a serene atmosphere that set the tone for an unforgettable vacation.

Nestled amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of Baile Herculane, La Dolce Vita offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The picturesque surroundings, characterized by lush greenery and the calming sound of the nearby river, create an idyllic setting that is perfect for relaxation.

truly remarkable experience

5 minutes from the city centre....at the foot of the national park...this guesthouse is the ideal place to rest...each room in the enfilade allows everyone to enjoy the morning breakfast of the beautiful garden very flowery and resting...at night even after a good meal in the city....the guesthouse is just the sunset....comfortable...with its swimming pool....its beautiful barbecue....a good place for family grills....the only bemol....the rooms...at the level of the separation between each room....on the upper floors....the windows that despite the curtains let the light pass and when people watch the TV at 2am you feel like you are in a nightclub....and no physical isolation....but to keep it...the spacious swimming pool is always worth it...the space is just like the sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sunny sun

Just take it easy.

The adminstrator is very rude, always argueing, threatening he will kick us out when we told him that there is no hot water or when he wanted us to pay the rooms upfront. One morning there was no hot water. Water pressure is low. Rooms are not soundproof, you cand hear everything happening in the other rooms around you. The window was half boarded. The doors have huge gaps, you cand see inside the room from outside. Smoke was coming in the rooms. Bathroom fan is very noisy. Restaurant was closed, bar was closed, games room was closed, social area was closed, pool closed, hot tub closed, spa area closed. Breakfast is a joke. Parking area is very crowded. Windows are not soundproof. Mattress is bad, you can feel the springs.

Very rude manager and bad services

We went to Baile Herculane to look for accommodation for one night and we chose La Dolce Vita. There is something hidden behind another boarding house, so you have to keep your eyes open when you arrive. The reception is at the very end of the narrow complex. Unfortunately, this is not described in this way. The rooms and apartments are clean and purposefully furnished. We got a room just above the reception for one night. Two beds and separate shower / toilet.

A small pension, please again

A nice and quiet place. Good for young couples but also for families with children. A nice apartment is available for them. A picture with this is attached. Please take medicines with you (preventive), permanent hospital or pharmacy are not available on a 35 km area. The best place to eat is on "Jojo" pension. La Dolce Vita offer only breakfast which I didn't take it. The WiFi is available only in public places. The pool water was in a poor condition: unchanged and full with insects. Overall is a nice place and you can try it. 
The activities in the area are multiple. You can visit: Bigar waterfall, Beiului eye. A train trip on the older train railway in the Europe between Oravita and Anina it will be a remarkable memory. The boat trip on the Danube will be the best thing you will made in Orsova. 


La Dolce Vita

I stayed here for just one night in one of the apartments, with my friends, during the first weekend of September 2015. This is a place that makes you feel comfortable the moment you pass through the door. The facility is horizontal, so you can easily enjoy the stunning view behind it (the Feregari Gorge), you can even soak in the pool where you can take full advantage of the same aforementioned stunning view. The apartment we stayed in was very clean, with 2 twin beds on the upper level, a foldable couch downstairs, as well as a double bed in an entirely separate room. The same apartment features a private bathroom and a delightful sitting area on the covered terrace right in front. There is a nice garden with lovely inviting garden furniture for the guests to share when it`s nice and sunny outside. There is a restaurant/cafe where you can buy food and drinks and also a spa (which I didn`t try but I bet it`s nice too). The staff is a little shy, but still accommodating. Highly recommended for the good prices as well. The location is good, away from the crazy downtown of Herculane, but within walking distance of it.

Chill chill chill

The true rank would in fact be somwhere between average and very good, but the place receive a "very good" from me mainly because it was way better than expected (we have read other reviews after we did the booking and we expected a disaster - we were extremely pleased to find something so much different). It is a Spa place and you have to pay for various services (jacuzzi, thermal bath -  sulph, massage, etc.). The place was clean. The rooms were simple, but had everything we needed. Wi-Fi indeed not working and we did see a cat around, but it was far from bothering anyone with his presence. We are animal lovers so a cat would hardly ruin with our peace&fun on a holiday. The place also seemed to be children friendly - a lot of the area was fitted to acomodate children (toys, etc.). Not in the center of resort, but then again, none of the good pensions are, the resort is crowded and I would not choose to stay anywhere close. Overall, a good stay.

A little bit "crowded" when built, but nice; the area is fantastic, the mountains that you see in the morning are impressive. There are places for barbecue, pools, places for children; the staff was nice, and everything is clean.
The food for breakfast was good also, and we could pay everything with credit/debit card.

We didn't like:
- that the pension is really not in Herculane, but in the next village (Pecinisca), so you need a car, or to find another way for transport.
- Wi-fi didn't work for me.
- The parking place is narrow, difficult to enter and exit, poor designed.
- my bed was squeaky
- there is no thermal water, but maybe this was just my expectancy

There are places for barbecues, swimming pools, places for children; the staff were kind, and everything was clean. The breakfast food was also good, and we could pay everything with credit/debit cards. We didn't like it: - that the boarding house is not really in Herculaneum, but in the next village (Pecinisca), so you'll need a car, or find another way to get around. - Wi-Fi doesn't work for me. - The parking lot is narrow, difficult to get in and out, poorly designed. - My bed was sideways - there's no thermal water, but maybe this was just my expectation.
