We had an absolutely wonderful 3 month stay at Familie Hotel Alkmaar, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for families or anyone looking for a charming, comfortable, and centrally located place to stay! From the moment we arrived, Sophie and her family made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality and thoughtful touches. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Alkmaar’s historic center, just steps from the vibrant Waagplein, the famous cheese market, and countless cozy restaurants and shops. Despite being in the middle of everything, our spacious apartment was surprisingly quiet, offering a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The apartment itself was modern, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated, with plenty of room for our family of four. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and having a living and dining area made it feel like a home away from home. The kids loved the extra space to relax, and we appreciated the well-equipped kitchen for preparing snacks and meals of all kinds. The apartment is also pet friendly so we could take our two cats with us. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. They were quick to respond to any questions, offered great recommendations for local attractions like the Dutch Cheese Museum and nearby beaches, and even helped us with our luggage—such a kind gesture! The nearby parking garage (just a short walk away at Ringers) was convenient for our car. The whole experience was seamless, and the attention to detail truly set this place apart. Alkmaar is a gem of a city, and staying at Familie Hotel made our trip unforgettable. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you for an amazing stay!
