We visited Sarita several times on our trip to Nepal and each time it felt like family. Sarita, the housewife, is fantastic with her parents who also live in the guesthouse. Every day she greeted us with a smile and her breakfasts were delicious, with homemade bread every morning. Sarita took us on various walks among the rice paddies in the center of Patan which is 10 minutes from the guesthouse. The rooms are clean, large, the bathroom is always with warm and clean water. It will surely be a fixed stop in our future travels to Nepal. Thank you Sarita!!

It's like home, great!

Stayed here end of 2019  for a few days at the end of the holiday.
Sarita was very warm and welcoming, and a wonderful hostess. 
When during dinner she starts telling stories, you are guaranteed to stay longer then you had planned, and before you know it your whole itinerary for the next few days is filled with interesting new locations to explore. 
She is also a wonderful cook, and likes to bring all kind of people together.

A few notes about the location:
+ Very well reachable by (public) transport and taxi, as it is next to the ringroad.
+ Easy walk down the street to the historic centre
+ Close to all necessary shops and services.

- The rooms at the front of the house are noisy, day and night, due to the ringroad.

Sarita is the most wonderful hostess, and makes you feel so incredibly welcome. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed into the kitchen and sat with other guests helping to make momos. 
Very comfortable beds, clean rooms, and hot water in the shower.

A home from home

We came to Kathmandu for a tennis tournament and spent 7 nights at Sanu’s House.
We simply felt like home.
Sarita our host is a stream of kindness. She cooks great, too!
You’ll enjoy the many cups of Chiya and the daily made fresh bread, together with a delicious honey. You’ll also enjoy vegetables from their garden, seasoned perfectly.
We made momos together, one of the highlights of the stay 😋
It is a very good value for money.
The rooms are basic but very clean. The ring road is noisy, so avoid if you have sensible ears. But we didn’t mind it at all - we slept well 😴 
You have a very basic momo stall at the corner where you can enjoy world class momos, 10 pcs for 80 $cents.
She will come with you to catch the right tuktuk or bus, she’s so nice!
It’s a 10 minutes walk to Patan Durbar square, and a 30 minutes ride with traffic to Thamel.

A full week at home!

Sarita, Biju and all the family were just sweethearts. So helpful and caring.

Sarita's famous morning bread is yummy and a highlight of the day :).

The house was always super clean and the rooms, too.

I stayed three times here for a few days and couldn't recommend it more if you are looking for a quite place out on the outskirts of the busy town. 
The house is located right by the busy ring road but I couldn't hear anything as the room was not facing the street.
It is a family house but you get all the space you need, your privacy is fully respected here. Whenever I had a question I would always be helped and given advice.

I think this Sarita's house is great for trackers, but also people staying longer, for work and looking for quite environment. As it is literally situated on the wide busy ring road you get buses and transport everywhere within minutes. 
If you come to be in the busier area with lots of shops and sightseeing, better stay in Patan or Thamel area.

I felt very welcome here and looked after.

A cozy, friendly, self-sufficient place, Sarita's manager lives to make the stay pleasant, accompanied us and guided us by sharing her knowledge of the place and its customs.

It was a perfect stay.

The rooms are spacious, well equipped! There is hot water, high-quality wifi. The price is fine! Breakfast is included in the price and believe me you will have something to do and it is delicious... A typical Nepalese breakfast with a smile on your face. The staff is really adorable, you feel more like family guests than guests while having its tranquility! I highly recommend this guesthouse!

Nothing to say was perfect!

Serita is the most wonderful host - very kind and full of advice on how to get to different places. Her family was extremely welcoming and the food was excellent - nothing quite matched it for the rest of the trip. The bedroom was lovely - and there were plenty of thick blankets for the night and hot water! Just had the best time here and if we had time we would have liked to stay for longer!

The best place to stay on your first night in Kathmandu

I stayed at Sanu’s house for one month, enjoying the delicious authentic Newari food I couldn’t find in the restaurants, celebrating 3 festivals with the family, and meeting lots of short term and long term guests. After getting sick in Kathmandu, Sanu’s house was my haven. The owner Serita always offered suggestions of what to do, where to go, how to get there, and always kept a nice smile and saying “what to do” cheerfully when faced with a problem. 
Three months later I still crave her food and serene company! Everyone that stayed also left with a heavy heart. It was a place to sit down and share meals and pass around dishes, and share stories. This particular accommodation was a highlight in itself.
