Villa Olivia is the best kept secret in PV. Denise, the host is always helpful and knowledgeable of the area. She really makes you feel like you’re home away from home. The place is immaculate and inviting. This will always be our go to place when we’re in PV. Did I mention that she has an excellent staff that is warm and friendly? One has to see the place to believe it. 

I stayed at Villa Olivia in a suite on the 6th floor. The balcony had a view of Banderas Bay. My visit was a delight. I loved watching the sun set and gazing at the water, the birds and the boats on the water. Every day I walked down a nearby stone staircase to the beach. By day and night I walked to restaurants close to the hotel. It is a unique building with loads of charm. It is very quiet, and the view from the rooftop courtyard that includes a swimming pool is spectacular. The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. I will return as soon as I can. It was a great bargain as well.

Villa Olivia has been our destination stay for the past 8+ years! Denise is the hostess-extraordinaire, gracious, kind, and always has recommendations on where to eat, what's new, etc. The Zona Romantica location is so perfect - close to Los Muertos Beach, walkable to a number of restaurants and shops. It's our Mexican home-away-from-home! This year we got to see whales, dolphins, and the most amazing thing: baby sea turtles hatching just feet away from us on the beach!

I loved everything about this spot.  It's not a hyatt and there are some quirks with elevators and the beds are firm.  That said, the service is warm and from the heart.  The views are stunning.  Elena and the cleaning team keep it spotless.  The location is wonderful and close to everything.  What I do recommend is getting to the amazing rooftop for swimming.  We watched the drag show from the neighboring rooftop bar from a distance, LOL!  Had a wonderful stay and grateful for the experience which I hope to have again...and again. It was home away from home, and Denise the hostess and manager of the hotel is absolutely incredible.  She treated us like family right off the bat and was accommodating to anything and everything we needed.  Stunning sunset view from the balcony of our room, beautiful rooftop pool, bar, kitchen, and grilled.  everything is within walking distance from the hotel putting you under 5 minutes to restaurants, bars, cafes, etc.  If you are especially nice, you may have the pleasure of tasting on elf Denise’s legendary cocktails, and if not don’t forget to at least ask for a drink when you arrive.  They’re on the house after your long journey getting there.  Very clean and tidy as well as full of plants along with the gym, and sauna as a cherry on top.  Enjoy!

I was there as a guest of a friend.  It is an ideal spot. Close to the beach and downtown.  The Villa is nice, clean, roof top patio for swimming, bbqing and relaxing with a book and a bottle of wine.
I'm going this year for the month of March and rented my own place.. 


Just finished our third stay at Villa Olivia. We love it. Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. We've stayed on floor 5, 6 and 10 and liked 10 the best. The manager, Denise, is terrific and helped make us feel like we were welcome.

First time we stayed here, staff was very accommodating, the building was very clean and secure.  The water was safe to drink from the building and they have there own laundry service or clean your clothes yourself if you like.  The best part was the roof top deck with a nice pool and jacuzzi with great views of the bay and down town.  would definitely stay here again.

We stayed on the 8th floor (Suite 801) in a corner suite.  Great decor, great sunsets and very comfortable.  No complaints whatsoever.  We were only one of two guests there during our 4-day stay.  Denise is incroyable!  Would definitely stay here again if in PV!

We loved having a full kitchen in our room with a lovely view from the balcony where we had our breakfast and lunch on most days.  We also enjoyed lunches on the roof top by the pool.  We had access to 2 BBQ's which we used often for dinners to watch the sunsets.  The pool was amazing with a panoramic view of Puerto Vallarta.  The use of the gym was also a nice addition.  We met many nice guests from various locations.  The manager was very helpful, gave us advice on restaurants, helped us find a chiropractor.  We talked to her often, she was always available!  Location great, even with the steep hill, easy walk to the beach, restaurants & Old Town. We hope to return again next year!

Home away from Home

Great Location

This was our second stay at this condo. We liked the clean room, bathroom and the well-stocked  little kitchen. The best part is a nice ocean view on your terrace. You can either have coffee, dinner or just relax and take in the view.
One word of caution: the building  in front Villa Olivia has been under construction for a while. The noise did not bother us that much as we were out a lot, but the view has been obstructed. Rooms from floor 7 and up can still give you full view.
This time the wifi was not good, no signal from the room, only on the balcony but not steady. We brought up to manager attention but were told that was the service provider's problem. The villa could not fix it???
For those with mobility issues, the uphill walk to the villa may not be in your favor.
We like the villa and their hospitality very much.

A hidden gem

Villa Olivia in the Heart of Zona Romantica.  5 weeks of pure pleasure, blue skies and amazing sunsets from the roof top

Denise treated us like family from the comprehensive tour on arrival to the hug when we left. Our bed was very comfortable (even for me with my bad back) and our room was very well appointed with fridge and kitchenette. Wifi was strong and uninterrupted. The view from our 8th floor balcony was incredible and the view from the rooftop was even better! The location was perfect for us - little cornerstores were within easy walking distance and we found a ton of great little restaurants and bars within a few minute walk. Despite this, it was relatively quiet and very safe. The best sports bar (Players) is only 5 minutes away! The price was very good for the area. We would definitely stay at Villa Olivia on our next trip to Puerto Vallarta.
