Great location and stellar staff. 

Most of the Zona Romatica is within a 5-minute walk. That's a huge W! 
The staff is the real winner here. Warm and familiar, but not over bearing. All staff wears a smile and is willing to help if needed. 

If you prefer to sleep in, ask for an internal room. All rooms are flanked by plants, so every room is like staying in a jungle. It's awesome. 

The art is well curated and unique. 

One perfect touch was the email communication during our stay. It was nice to receive information about restaurant recommendations or how to check out properly without having to ask. Very proactive information. Well done!

Quaint and warm

Our experience was excellent!!
This will be our hotel from now on when we travel to Puerto Vallarta.
Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by our host Patrick.
Patrick, your team went above and beyond our expectations. Every space is clean. We were always greeted with a smile and a “hola’. We just felt at home at Pinata.
The Happy Hour and Pool Party was such a great opportunity to meet new people and form new friendships.
I want to personally thank, Isaac, Brayan, Luis, Juan, Aurelio, Jose and Uri. Thank you, gentlemen for your hospitality. Patrick, you hit a home run with your property.

Excellence!!

Piñata hotel is an amazing place to stay for a fun trip in Puerto Vallarta. The location is perfect, and is located near many restaurants and gay clubs. Additionally, the clothing optional part of the pool and Jacuzzi is perfect and sexy. There’s also a clothing optional pool party every Saturday, which was a lot of fun as well. The owner is absolutely sweet, and the other house staff are also super attentive, friendly, and great to share conversation with. It is honestly the best place to stay at during your visit, and it’s worth every penny. 

My new home in Puerto Vallarta 

My husband and I stayed recently at Piñata PV and had a wonderful experience.  Patrick greeted us upon arrival and immediately made us feel at home. He gave us a tour of the hotel, which I may add is really cool architecturally speaking and immaculate.  The rest of our stay was very relaxing. Patrick and his team were very friendly and eager to help with any request we had. They also did a thorough room cleaning every day! We enjoyed the pool  which was so refreshing in the summer heat and humidity.  There is also a whirlpool, steam room and bar on site with reasonably priced drinks. The property is perfectly situated in Zona Romantica, only blocks away from bars, restaurants and the beach. Being in the middle of everything, one would think it would be loud but it actually is very peaceful inside the hotel.  All in all a very nice and relaxing stay. We will definitely return in the future!

Relaxing PV Stay

I've stayed at the Piñata a couple times now and it has quickly become my favorite property. I travel full time through the year and stay in some really incredible places, the Piñata stands above the rest! Genuinely. 

The property itself is gorgeous with a very comfortable pool, hot tub and bar all perfectly situated in the center of the space. The amenities here are absolutely perfect for the stay you're looking for when coming to the Romantic Zone in PV.

A couple of things that stand out to me as a seasoned traveler...
The bar: fully stocked, quick drinks and great staff who can make just about anything. Killer margs by the way.
Coffee: First thing in the morning it's on the bar, my favorite café (Ono) is also right behind the property which is a lovely walk in the morning for cold brew or lattés and açaí bowls.
Wifi: Incredible. Much of my work happens in over video and requires a very high speed with reliability being critical. Piñata's wifi is some of the best I have EVER seen in a hotel.
Staff: Literally the best. Any time I have needed them they've been on it 100% and so friendly. The other really cool thing about staying here is that it's an intimate and consistent staff. I love that I get to go back and see them again and again. In many of the properties I've stayed I've been a little wary of judgement from staff even though it's a property for gay men like myself. Not once have I felt anything but great vibes from these guys. It's a big part of what makes this place so relaxed, welcoming and comfortable.
They also have the best recommendations for things to do around PV. I've asked them about parties, beaches, restaurants you name it... their recommendations have helped me really experience the area much more than had I not. 
Cleanliness: The daily room touch ups are second to none. I take cleanliness really seriously and this place doesn't cut corners anywhere. It's kind of mind-blowing. The room is spotless every single day and it's so nice.
Bed: While I understand everyone's bed preference wildly varies, these ones really do it for me. Great quality all around and the linens are top notch... as is the decor in the rooms. I love the king off the pool on the first floor, it's chic.
AC: If you're like me and want to sleep in the arctic, you're going to be in heaven here. No joke, the rooms have top notch air-con and while it may sound insane... that's a major selling point for me anywhere I go.
Check in: A breeze complete with booze. Welcome drinks are such a nice touch when arriving to a property and having the entire experience be quick and relaxing really sets the tone. 

It's so evident that the owner of this property has curated every piece of this property for guest comfort and ease while traveling. When you check in, you choose a code that's easy to remember. It's programmed for the front door and the door to your room so you never have to carry (or in my case, repeatedly lose) a room key. It's such a minor simple feature but it makes a massive difference,  truly. You can genuinely feel a personal touch in every inch of the property. 

If you're like I was and considering this place for the first time, trust me you're going to love it. The first time I arrived to the property I was greeted by other guests inviting me for a dip, immediately made a few friends I'm still in touch with! There are parties on select evenings that aren't loud or disturbing but a very easy environment to meander into. If you're a traveler who struggles to meet people on the road, you'll have literally no problem here. The atmosphere lends itself to easy socializing and all the guys on staff are around to really keep things light socially and pressure free. I get intimidated quite easy by large groups of gay men and I had the most relaxed time leaning into the events here. It's such a great mix. 

Finally, while I could say so much more about this place I think you have to experience it to really understand it. It's quickly become a very happy place for me and I'm so thankful to have a relaxing oasis to return to again & again.

Piñata PV sets the standard for gay travel.

We had such an excellent time during our visit.  We split our stay at another hotel while in PV, but wish we had stayed here longer.  The hotel changed owners about 2 years ago, and there have been some significant improvements to the property.  It’s industrial but we found it nicer in person than it appeared in photographs. Patrick and the staff were incredibly accommodating.  Since it’s a small hotel, it was easy to meet people and we ended up going to dinners and drinks with some of the others staying at the hotel and location is really excellent - sort of a quiet oasis in otherwise busy Zona Romantica.  We look forward to our next visit.

A really excellent experience!

Loved everything about our stay here.  Loved the look of concrete and brick construction -- keeps it feeling cool despite the heat outside.  Appreciated Patrick, the owner, and all the staff keeping a low profile, but being around if needed.  Nice that they supply complimentary bottles of water that we took to the beach. There's coffee/tea and cake early in the morning. One afternoon, Luis made delicious margaritas and guacamole for Happy Hour. Can't beat the location -- a million restaurants/bars/clubs just outside the door, and all the rest of PV just a short walk away. One feature that we liked was using an entry code for the front door and room door -- no worries about carrying a key around to the beach or out at night. 

The property is small, and I wish there were more space for hanging around the pool.  And I wish we had been able to attend the Saturday party, but we'll save that for our next visit.  But Piñata was the perfect place to spend 5 nights.  Planning to spend more time when we return!

Can’t say enough great things about this hotel…I’ve stayed multiple times, and each experience is always incredible.  It’s so clean, serene, with amazing staff.  Well kept, social, and the owner Patrick is great.  The location is superb, the beds are comfortable, the decor is great.  Love it!

A perfect place in PV

On November 26th of 2022, I traveled to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate a milestone birthday and I stayed at the Piñata PV Hotel.   In all of my travels over the years, I’ve never had the unique type of experience I enjoyed at the Piñata.  It was of the highest caliber.   The personal attention from Patrick, the owner, and his team of professional young men made me feel very special…..as if they each had a genuine interest in making my experience the best ever.  The building’s decor was warm and inviting and tastefully appointed with beautiful plants and works of art.  Additionally, sitting in the hot tub and pool of an evening provided relaxing opportunities to visit with other guests, and to share our travel experiences with one another while sipping on wine or cocktails from the bar.  Located mere steps from the beach and an abundance of delightful restaurants, cafes, and boutique shops, the Piñata’s location in the heart of la Zona Romantica couldn’t have been more perfect.  But it was the level of attention from Patrick and his team, (Isaac, Josue, Bryan, Luis, Aurelio, Juan and Uri), the warm comfortable environment they created, and the services they provided, that made my experience at the Piñata unmatched by any other and truly unforgettable. A Gem of a Hotel in La Zona Romantica, the Piñata PV Hotel

This is my second time staying at Piñata. It is a great hotel in Puerto Vallarta. It is beautifully decorated and close to wonderful restaurants and gay clubs. The beach is a 10 minute walk. The staff is wonderful and very friendly (and cute.. hahaha). I love that my room is cleaned every day which doesn’t happen with an Airbnb—I was amazed how the cleaning guys would fold my clothes that I left on the floor. Very nice and unexpected touch. I definitely left the guys a nice tip at checkout. I will return again! Thanks for a great stay!!
