Sun Siyam Vilu Reef

Third time in the Maldives; this time we chose Sun Siyam Vilu Reef Resort which yet again did not disappoint. The resort can be reached by a scenic seaplane ride, and between your international and seaplane flight, you can eat and relax in the Sun Siyam Lounge. A fantastic 10-15 min. free neck and shoulder massage was also included, which was a perfect start to our holiday. Once we arrived at the island, we were greeted by our nice host, Niyaaf, who showed us the resort's main facilities and escorted us to our room. We booked a beach villa with a pool, and at first we received a room that we did not like that much due to its location, so we asked Niyaaf for a change, who immediately took action and arranged us another room, just exactly what we preferred. Thankfully he completely understood our needs, and he was always available when needed. The villa and its surroundings are spacious, and we really liked the white-painted style with colorful orange and pink decorations. The private pool is huge, and the outdoor bath is always the highlight of Maldives rooms. Our room attendant, Sahib, was the nicest and most friendly person, who took very good care of us. He made sure that our room was always clean and also understood our special requests. He was so nice, he prepared beautiful bed decorations for us, which we haven't received in our previous visits, so thank you, Sahib, for giving us these special memories. Our villa faced the lagoon, it was so nice to relax in the comfortable swing and enjoy the most beautiful blues you can imagine. Compared to the other islands we visited, what made Sun Siyam Vilu Reef exceptional was the people who work there. All the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they work so hard to fulfill all the guests’s requests and please us. We booked the accommodation with half board, so we were able to try for lunch the snack menu of the pool bar, the Italian-style Spice restaurant and also In-villa dining. All was delicious, as well as the themed buffet dinners in the main Aqua restaurant. All the chefs and waiters were super nice in all bars and restaurants, and even the main Chef asked us every night if we were good and whether we had any special requests. Niyaaf and the management, as a nice gesture, invited us to the management sunset cocktail party, where we could share our experiences with the management team while we were welcomed with free cocktails. For us the highlight of this Resort, other than the hard working and most humble staff was the house reef, which was so super accessible, even for beginners and kids. It was very safe and easy to get to the reef edge and explore the marine life. During the day there was even a security guard there who was there if something went wrong. We were lucky to see all kinds of colorful fish, reef sharks, and also a turtle a few times. We also tried the Spa and had a very relaxing family massage and had an amazing excursion with the Watersports team, who managed to grant our wishes and took us to a picturesque sandbank, and then we were able to visit a farm island, where we were shown around and given insight into how local people grow plants there. All in all, thank you, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, for making our visit unforgettable, and we hope to return one day.
