We stayed in Palm Aqua during the end of February. We had a great stay there. We loved the atmosphere and local experience. The rooms are excellent. Staffs are always willing to help anything you need. We had a manta trip and enjoyed Snorkeling with them. It was amazing! The island escape was a great experience that will be unforgettable for us and our 3 year old girl. We highly recommend the Palm Aqua to all guests and families who love to explore Maldives. 

We stayed this amazing guest house during February 2017.It is amazing experience. We were well taken care by the staff there. The room is well clean and service everyday. We got chance to experience different activities like seeing Manta and snorkeling in turtle point. We have lots of option for our meals around the island. The free space in the guest house is great place to chill during and evening. If anyone like to enjoy affordable price in Maldives with lot of adventure, we recommend to stay in Palm Aqua.

we stayed a week in Maamigili. At first we had to adjust our phantasy idea of Maldives to the reality. The Maldives are an islamic country and all the women are coverd up.  It's not required to do  the same but expcted out of respect that you do your best. Women swin even in clothes. Yes, and Idea that is strange to most of us coming from western countries. So for the tourists on the island they have made a "bikini beach". It's a small stretch of beach with a fence on each side and umbrellas and wooden chairs. The water is nice but not as good as on the reefs. The bikini beach felt private at first, but every time we went there were local men around. The guy who cleans the beach comes rightbetwenn 2 and 4pm and some other guy walks by just to look at us in our bikinis. It felt akward, especially when you are just two womwn alone. But we found out that you can pay a local guy with a boat. Mohammed who will take you to a deserted island right next to Maamigili for $5 a person. Youtell him when to pick you up and he will be there on the dot. The island has an amzing reef and we saw sharks, turtles and loads of fish while snorkeling. The middle of that island has a palm tree grove and the beach has random palmtrees growing basically in the water. Now we had found our Postcard Maldives spot. I can only recommend going there. Yes, don't forget to bring all you need including bug spray and water!
Ali pele from the Palm Aqua will help you set up any trip you want to do. whale Shark snorkeling or a day at Picknick island. You can also spend a day at the resort island next to Maamigili. Sun Island.  You have to call in advance and ask for permission. They will put you on the list of security and when you arrive you check in and pay $25 per person to enjoy their facilities. Here you can fully relax in bikin. Use the pool and order a beer at the bar. Yes beer or any other type of Alcohol is not available on the local islands as the islamic regime is very strict and alcohol is not allowed.
The room is always clean and Mahmoud ( Mohammed) is taking care of it daily. Breakfast is included in the price and will be served to you at the time you desire. The mattresses are brand new and firm and the AC blows ice cold air.  There is an outdoor patio with tables and chairs but in May too hot to sit out there. The guest house has just opened recently and they are still working on improvement as they go. The patio area is very big and I'm sure they will build something nice out there. The internet is free and work of and on. Just good enough to check your mails and send some messages. Overall it was a great experience and everybody working at the Palm Aqua is dedicated to make your stay the best possible.
Would I come back? Yes I would. I loved the local experience. People are friendly and most of the woman we met on the street said hello or smiled at us.
