There were insects everywhere, the hotel was far away from the beach, and the staff was unfriendly. I definitely do not recommend it, steer clear of this hotel.

It's horrible.

Not recommend for families travel. Bath Tower provided very old (lucky I bring from home). Big lizard enter from broken mosquito net (after complaints no action taken). Location also not very good. Only if u decide to climb the high hill every time you want to see the beach. Also no make up room for 4days and 3night stay. Dustbin outside of the room also not clean. You still can see the rubbish from the first day you arrive till departure day. Corridor very smelly. Not recommend at all

Bad experience

I am a well travelled man,having travelled through various destinations in Europe and Asia. I had to unfortunately book Tivoli inn in August, as all the other hotels in the island were already booked during the time of my visit.

Me, along with my family, arrived at the hotel before check in time and wanted to use the common washroom adjacent to the reception area. But the guys at the reception told me that someone's at the washroom. So I waited outside the washroom for quite some time with my wife, only to find out that the reception guys had a key to it all along, which is given only to selective people presumably Europeans (white). I also confirmed this fact later by speaking to a staff member,a good man, whose name I am not sharing here for obvious reasons. I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I found this very offensive. 

Also, there was an altercation between the staff and a family member during our visit, whereby one of the staff not only intimidated him, but threatened him to such a level that we were scared for our safety in the island. To be specific, he said something like, "it only takes us a second to make people disappear off this island". We have travelled to many hotels & resorts in the past, but never had this kind of experience.

As for the quality of accommodation of this hotel, I would rate it a 1 out of 5. The room we were given lacked cleanliness, and the toilet smelt bad, had stains all over, and faulty faucets.

If I had known better, I would change my travel dates and book some other hotel rather than staying here. Never going back to tivoli inn again.

Not a place for a brown man to go to

I was checked in with my friends in this hotel, the 1st day we open the door, glass at the window break and the make up table move and so messy. We call the cleaner to clean and change the window glass. The day 2 we start our activities, Island hoping. That night I cannot sleep, I wake up 3.30 am went to toilet. N sleep, after that I wake up 5.30 am to see why my curtain move, I trying to close suddenly water bottle fall, n my friend wake up and look up she cannot see very well, she think is lizard. Once, we switch on the light is SNAKE. We run, and left the room. 

Snake sleep with us in the room 

I have been a victim of a robbery in this hotel. I have booked a 2 nights in Tropicana/Tivoli Inn located in Kuala Besut Perhentian Kecil, Malaysia. At first the receptionist was very rude and disrespectful to us when we approached to check in, later that day when we finish our activities in the evening, we found out that our belongs were stolen from the room. In the following morning we went to the reception reporting what happened to us, the receptionist didn’t even bother to guide or help us do something and he was very rude and disrespectful to us in a horrible way screaming and shouting on us.

Robbery

What you as expedía show in the picture is not what you are going to have, the room si smaller and they don’t even redound you since they said is Expedia fault to show wrong pictures of the room

In this case, I’d say you get less than you pay for - it was a less than average few days. Bathroom was pretty grotty with no hot water. No AC, sheets were clean but barely fit the mattress and we had to ask for a sheet to cover ourselves as they gave us a single the first time around. We had to keep everything off the floor - several times we saw mouse droppings on our doorstep. It’s also a walk from the beach which is fine in the day time, but I wouldn’t recommend it for girls alone at night - keep your wits about you.

A bit grim

For that price we've paid, there is no hot water at all and the overall cleanness leaves much to be desired

Room was filthy. One sheet on bed that hadn’t been cleaned and got a lot of mosquito bites.

We stayed at Tivoli Inn for 4 days. I must admit that I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews. After staying there I can't believe that people have complained. The room was clean and the staff were helpful despite some communication problem. Great location, two minutes walk to Long Beach and five minutes walk to Coral Bay. Close to shops, lots of restaurants and bars. But far enough from the crazy late night beach partying yet close enough to get there if you want to!
