I didn't recommend this hotel at all. I didn't have room at the beginning of my trip to Diego because the hotel was full I went directly in person to book my last night in Madagascar after a two-week trip. The host person took my booking. I offered to pay directly and she told me that it was not necessary. 3 days before I arrived I asked for a confirmation by email. The day came, after 7pm on the road, at 5pm and the urge to stay, I was told that the hotel was complete and that my room was left to a person who wanted to extend his stay. Absolutely NO commercial gesture! The staff had absolutely nothing to do with it! I was organized at 6pm to find another accommodation with 15kg back! So I don't recommend this hotel to you, and even with 18kg reservation is a very bad experience!

Disrespectful

Forced to spend the night in Diego Suarez, our taxi driver recommends this establishment. We really shouldn't be looking too much. The huge room overlooks the Indian Ocean. To use the bathroom and the toilets, you really need to need them, especially since the water shortage is permanent. Just below, a small pool is finally the cleanest. You can also dine and eat... of the lobster!The room rate includes basic breakfast. The speed of service is not a bet. The bill is unbeatable. To see if you want to experience a local experience.

The Commission has already adopted a number of proposals for a new directive on the protection of the environment.

I just stayed with my group from the meeting that I brought to make a trip to the Cape of Ambra. The Kartiffa Hotel is well situated slightly out of focus, a building dating back to the 1950s is maintained just as it needs to be but no more, it's a shame, we have encountered problems with water pressure, air conditioning but also with the supply of the bar (no big bottle of gas water, coca-cola...) a good and serious management and a rejuvenation of this hotel would make it very attractive! The staff is very attentive and smiling which is very nice. The Kartiffa remains a nice hotel for short stages because it just a lack of comfort, I want to make a very good price and a very good quality report, and I don't want to make a very good price.

Staying from 20 to 27 November 2018 without hesitation, book a family suite (N°26-1st floor), 25€/day, spacious, quiet, quiet climate, clean TV, sea view, cheap laundry service, breakfast (bread, butter, jam, fresh juice), impeccable literacy, well-equipped toilet towels, safe at the reception. Points: standard room (N°24-1st floor) 20€/day, window, missing 2 tiles, heat from noon, very noisy, inverse control fan, bathroom, no small shower, for room temperature or water control.

Not bad, but can do better.

For those who have a low budget but don't want to give up a nice view. Simple rooms with very small but clean bathrooms. The restaurant is quiet but the pool looks too much like a big bathtub. Very nice and smiling staff.

We were welcomed in this hotel in downtown Diego, the restaurant offers decent dishes, sea view with swimming pool for 20 euros, good quality price ratio.

Welcome at a good price

High flyers, don't come here. For the rest of us, there were some nice things here, but I wouldn't want to stay for more than a night or two at most.
Room: simple and clean, but that doesn't include the bathroom. When there was water (hot water being a different issue altogether), I felt okay about washing my hands there, but not about getting in that shower setup. Maybe I'm a wuss (or not filthy enough),
Reception, etc.: Desk folks were nice 90%. Got put in a dark, cold, room one of the nights we were there. They were not interested in shifting us to something less dark, etc...
Wifi: sometimes, when there was electricity.

Neighborhood: I found from a local, after a couple of days, that tourists get fleeced on the streets with some frequency. Night walking from eating dinner did make me nervous.
Good idea: don't walk around the outside of the hotel under windows, since the panes might just fall out if someone decides to open it up.

I don't know if there are options that are in the general price range that are truly different and better.

Staying 4 nights, clean room but a little less than the bathroom level, air conditioning in the room, wifi available, functional swimming pool but doesn't make you want to go there, nice view of the bay of Diego, staff is listening and helpful

Double room

Well located hotel with nice view and simple and clean rooms. The food was ok and the stuff friendly and welcoming. But be aware that you are might be sourrounded by obvious sextourism what unfortunately seems to be quite normal in Diego Suarez.

Positive points: - Very good location of the hotel - Staff welcoming (on arrival) - Effective air conditioning - Negative points: - Big water problems during an entire day inundated at night (water tank apparently insufficient) with the heat it was making and the reason for the stay, it quickly became a problem. Meanwhile the receptionist (man) moved with his friends to the restaurant to play dominos. - Very uncomfortable and not very clean. - Restaurant: Do not serve on Tuesdays because the staff is in the hotel so guests have to deal with whether it rains or whether it sells including breakfast. Otherwise, overall does to feed themselves without any more quality: but this is not really irrigation - but not a regular wifi connection to the hotel.
