This was the first time for us staying at a traditional place in japan; the staff was amazing, very warm and attentive from the very first second we got there until we left. They had a great bilingual host, osman, who was very helpful.
The place is very beautiful and the rooms are very cozy in a traditional japanese style.

We spent 2 nights there, and it was absolutely beautiful. A very traditional Japanese ryokan experience (to our very little knowledge of Japanese culture and history), with incredible and attentive service and attention to every single little detail. Superb!

We also opted to get the breakfasts and dinners addition, which was phenomenal. More like divine! Food brought and served in our room, with a huge variety of traditional and diverse Japanese cuisine. We have also added some alcohol (beer, wine, sake) which was very reasonable in price.

Overall, it was expensive - yet worth every moment, and we will be coming back.

Wow. So so so impressed with this particular hotel.

We (me and the husband) arrived on Sunday evening from Kyoto by train. In the train station we had a member of staff awaiting for us. We didn't ask for it nor did we think it was a part of their service, but how lovely for them to pick us up. Once arriving at the hotel the staff showed us to our room and also showed were the hotels hot springs are! :) 
We had a wonderful view of the Japanese garden from our room.
We went for dinners out in town but one of the mornings we had breakfast at the hotel which was a beautiful ad yummy Japanese style spread. The other morning we went out in town - there is a cafe were you can get coffee from all over the world whilst listening to some jazz. 
They gave us some coupons and discount vouchers to be used around the town. There are many things to do in the town - cable car up the Mt Daishi (some 900yen to go up and down via cable cart), rent bikes ( 1000 yen for electric bike for 2h, but you can rent it from 9-17 for a tad more ) and cycle to the Japanese Sea coast (some 20 minutes away), or cycle to caves (30min), go around the public baths. There are many places to have really good food, they cater for most tastes - really good coffee houses, sea food, Tajima beef is served at a few places. 

When we were leaving on Tuesday our language was taken to Ryokan Information centre which is opposite the train station. A very good location for picking the bags up. I think we paid 150yen per bag so a really good price. 

The staff are wonderful, seriously they would give us a life in town ( most hotels do this) for dinner or in the morning. We felt so very welcome during our stay that it was a little sad to be leaving. The best service I have ever experienced.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you book via booking.com you will probably end up paying a tad more then the price you booked it at! Think about the exchange rate and cost of meals - the breakfast was 1000yen per person. 

Also the hotel WIFI is only at the reception, but as our room was quite close to the reception I still got a lot of signal. I also think you don't really need to be on WIFI when in Kinosaki, it's a place to be present and enjoying the atmosphere.

I stayed here for 3 nights to relax and unwind and it certainly did the trick.  The place is beautiful, smells of incense, gentle music in the halls and lobby.  The staff were very very attentive and kind.  This was my first ryokan and I loved it.  My room was comfortable and clean and the courtyard garden was really beautiful.  Yes it is a little bit down the road in this very small town, but they always offed to drive me where I wanted to go but I preferred to walk.  Such a beautiful town with kind friendly people.  I was there off season and it was very quiet which I loved.  I would go back in a heartbeat.

Shuttle bus was waiting for guests at the train station.  This is definitely a must do if you want to wind down and relax for a day or two.  The town is adorable with pretty shops.  It is quaint and nice to walk around.  Hotel guests are seen wearing their yukatas as they stroll to the onsens.  This hotel is clean and the people are extremely friendly and put a lot of effort to give top notch service. The view from the sitting area in the room is absolutely relaxing.  We paid for an evening meal, which was served to us in our room on the tatami floor.  It was a wonderful way to experience the culture. I happen to be rather unadventurous when it comes to my eating habits, so in my case it was a poor choice to pay for the dinner.  But...it was very beautifully presented and the service was lovely, so I say definitely go for it if you are willing to try anything. ( the menu was in Japanese, so it was all a guessing game).  The onsen on site was very clean and a nice way to spend a little time in the evening before settling in for the night.  We had a peaceful night sleep in our room on the traditional mattress set on the tatami floor.  We opted out of paying for the breakfast meal.  A shuttle brought us back to the train station ( 5 min drive) in the morning.  This could easily be a 2 night stay as there are nice things to do in the area, including bike rental, I believe and there are 7 public onsen that free tickets are included with your stay.  We just had 1 night available to spend here.  It's worth the train trip!
