Suwako Hotel

Nice place to escape the crazy Tokyo. It's not that far, near a pretty lake with the mountain view. Not so much to do around but people come there to relax and ejoy the quite atmosphere. The hotel won't leave your disappointed. They have very friendly staff, super clean rooms and lobby, etc. They have rooms with a private onsen bath. It's nice for a romantic holiday. But keep in mind that the room has only one bath with one type of mineral water. In the general hotel bathhouse they have many types of baths with various water. So, anyway it's better to sneak there when rush hours are off- better after dinner, after breakfast and very late at night. You'll likely be alone enjoying all the facilities! The rooms with private baths have a choice of either a western type with beds or a Japanese with a futon. The idea that someone will come to make your bed on tatami floor, and then the bed will disappear in the morning, might seem irritating for western travellers. But on the other hand you are staying at ryokan where you are supposed to enjoy a traditional Japanese lifestyle. You can sleep in bed anywhere in the world. Dinner is served in the room. The hotel is within walking distance from the station.
