119 reviewsVilla Romana del Casale is unmissable on a tour of Sicily. While the day trippers and tour buses go in and out of this historic site, they mostly miss charming little Piazza Armerina. This unpretentious medieval hill town has little in the way of tourist infrastructure though we were very pleased to choose Dimora del Conte. With a perfect location, we could stroll to the center of the historic quarter in minutes to see the sites and have our pick of a handful of local restaurants. Our host was most gracious and helpful and champion for his town. A delicious breakfast was offered as well as the option to help ourselves to tea or coffee at any time. Our room had a small balcony with two chairs to enjoy great views. Sicily is about experiencing the place and people. Dimora del Conte was a perfect place for that.
