Agriturismo Corvaia

We had two great weeks in Corvaia this summer. The place is just what we were looking for: very nicely refurbished old farm in a wonderful setting, lovely owners, beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside, within half and hour of many amazing medieval towns and termal baths, great swimming pool with lovely views. We had our dog with us and she also loved it. There were two "appartments" each with 3 bedrooms. We had the smaller one and was very charming. No luxury but nicely decorated and made us quickly feel at home. We also had a small terrace and access to a part of the garden where we could eat outside and do a BBQ. The pool was shared with one other family which was staying in the bigger appartment. Tara, the owner, is great, and would regularly offer us very tasty vegetables from her own production. The olive oil and jams she prepares are also highly recommended. Radicofani seems to be outside of the main tourist sites in Tuscany but is a beautiful village with an impressive fortress at the top from which you can see most of the val d'orcia and beyond. The sunset from up there is particularly recommended. There are also many festivals or shows in the summer in Radicofani itself or the other villages around it that are worth exploring. We did many day trips to Lago Bolsena, Orvieto, Montepulciano , and evenings in the many beautiful medieval villages such as Pienza and Chiusi which are well worth a visit. The walk up the Monte Cetona (with beautiful views from the cross at the top) or around Bagni San Filippo (with the public termal baths in the nearby forrest) are beautiful. A great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet in a beautiful setting. We highly recommend Corvaia.
