Last week I was there 3 days in this Hotel. Ambiance is very good. We can feel that, we are in home as surrounding areas also like that only. Parking space was there to park 10Big vehicles at a time like INNOVA. Room and Washrooms also Good. Hot water depends on Climate as they are using Solar to get Hot Water. But room maintenance staff were didn't came to clean the room even I was there for  2 complete days. Don't prefer Breakfast in this hotel even it is complimentary as they are not interested to provide it as per customer's choice.  1st Days BF was - IDLI + BREAD AMLET . Next Day - IDLI + Upma + Roasted Bread. Coffee and Tea also not good. Near to that Residency with in half KM distance either left or right, we have UDIPI hotel for VEG and  New Hotel for NV. 

Not too Good

Only plus point of Alakkal Residency is that it is situated in Market. but that could be drawaback as well because road which is going to Alakkal residency is very narrow and local peoples are parking their vechiles aside road and they don't bother that it could block traffic. you have to horn your vechicle conticiniously to clear road.
now coming on to Alakkal residency . it is budget hotel with very limited facilities. they don't have restaurant and provide basic breakfast by ordering it from nearby restaurant. total room count is more than 50 due to which you could get availability in peak season as well but don't go with it. Balcony provided to each room but that doens't have any view. rediciluos part is that i check-in at 5 pm after hectic travelling. They told that they have solar water system and hot water will be available in morning only . they don't bother to provide hot water as well.in morning at 7.00 am i started hot water tap and water was not coming. i rush to reception and got answer that solar water is limited and it is finished . They provided hot water in bucket. if you are having more than 50 rooms then you should install water system which could provide hot water to all rooms. if Kalpetta is hill station then hot water shold be your first priority. owner is most concentrating on cost cutting. most of outside room light were swiched off to save electivity.
not much reviews are available for Kalpetta Town hence providing review on Kalpetta.
there is nothing that we can say it is hill station. Kalpetta is very small town with very less shopping ,restaurant option.
almost all lodges are charges too high as compare to Sulthan Barthy. Better to book your stay at Sulthan Barthy which is pretty town with most of tourist places sorrounding.

Pathetic stay

It's an ok type budget hotel dont expect too much. If no other option then only go for it.They dont have any resturants..however they serve breakfast..
You will find good restaurants in vicinity  of 2-3 kms.
Location is also good.

Ok Hotel 

Stayed at this place while on a small pleasure trip to wayanad.Place is OK for a shoestring budget.Cant expect much for that kind of money.They provide complimentary breakfast as well,but limited.Guys at the reception are amazing and the biggest plus point is the staff who are really friendly and helpful.They do not have a restaurant.But since it's in the middle of the kalpetta town,plenty of options are available around.A decent budget hotel and value for money.The owners should pay little more attention towards upkeep of this property.I recommend this place for budget conscious People.Book through Apps to get the maximum benefit.

Decent budget hotel

We recently stayed here for 2 days . The rooms were clean and tidy. Hot water was not available over tap , but whenever asked for , the staffs brought it in buckets in few mins.
Food was also really good.
Excellent service .
