I stayed at Hofdi Guesthouse for a night & the experience was wonderful. I had to call the owner of the house who came within 5 mins, showed us around the house & left. He was very friendly & good. The house is fantastic. It is historical as well (3rd house of Husavik). The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable & the kitchen is stocked with all sorts of utensils & other things. Breakfast is included & the owner had kept lots of things for the breakfast. The common area is beautiful & you'd love to spend more time there. There is a laundry facility as well. It is located in the most convenient place. If you have a car, there's a place to park it next to the guesthouse. Recommended.

Fantastic for a group of friends. Cozy and comfortable for a family, close to everything in Húsavík. Would love to stay here with my family anytime of the year. Will be back some day and hope you will too.

We were two couples travelling at Iceland.It wasn't so hard to find,but be aware you have to call hosts and he will come in a few minutes.He was very kind, explain us everything we need to know about our stay.  It was very convenient apartment  with all facilities including the washing mashing and dryer.A free parking lot just outside across the street.
It is a bakery just beside, so you can enjoy fresh bread for breakfast!

Great Experience!

Weekend visit with friends 

This guesthouse is conveniently located in Husavik, although I am really glad I emailed for directions ahead of time, as Googlemaps does not take you to the right place (you can see it up the hill from where Googlemaps pins it on the main street, but you have to drive up and around to actually reach the front entrance where you can park). This guesthouse is very old and as a result, it is quite cute and quaint. Our room was large and fairly bright, which was great. I also liked that there was a washer/dryer. However, I did not like how we had to call upon arrival in order to gain entry, as we were traveling from the US and had our phones on airplane mode. We had to incur roaming/long distance charges in order to be let in (and then once in, the girl who checked us in locked the main entry door behind her...just seemed a little odd in a small town in Iceland). This guesthouse is cute but because it is old it has some quirks. The bathroom was a little creepy and I'm glad I didn't have to use their other bathroom which is located in the basement behind a closed door and down a narrow, steep staircase! At times I felt a little like I was in a haunted house ;)

This property needs to provide more facilities for the number of people staying. Although there are two bathrooms, one is down a very steep staircase in the basement, so one bathroom for 10+ people just isn't sufficient. The room was badly equipped - no place to hang clothes, only one chair, no mirror. On the good side, there were laundry facilities, although the dryer didn't seem to be working, and the supplies to make breakfast were plentiful. The young girl who answered our call for directions was helpful and pleasant and met us to show the way (it would be difficiult to find otherwise). The price was high compared to other places we stayed at, with far better facilities.
