Stayed on our first night in Iceland.  Good location, Mountain View one side and ocean the other.  5 minute drive to local supermarket. The room was very warm and bed comfortable, everything you would need in the kitchen. The cottage was very clean. No complaints at all and would recommend for couples or families. 

Romantic getaway

We stayed here one night on Sunday 1st October 2023,Moar guesthouse and cabins is north of Reykjavik in a very quiet area off the main road.We stayed in the main house which has 4 or 5 bedrooms which are a reasonable size,very clean and comfy,there is a communal cosy lounge,kitchen and Bathroom.We booked through a website,it was cheap about £54 for one room.Moar has a nice warm feel to it,I liked it and would stay again.Didnt see or meet owners.

Cheap,cosy,clean,quiet

A nice place to stay near to Reykjavik and to explore the west of iceland. On our arrival day we directly drove to here. The accommodation is in separate cottages and has so much privacy. Each room has a small kitchen as well with all the required amenities. Beds were comfy and it was a bunk bed so the cottage could easily accommodate 4 people. Heating was superb. Only issue was with the WiFi we did not have the connection on first night. It was okay on 2nd night though. We could even see a week aurora as well behind the cottages. 

A cosy place to base your stay to explore west iceland 

Site very dirty but very dirty, bathroom with dirty shower hair dirty fridge dirty sink with food scraps windows up to shit and everything with bad repairs.If we told the señor we went for two hours and on the way back everything was just as dirty except the sink a shame the only site in all of Iceland where we had this problem I wouldn't recommend it at all. The wifi didn't work either.Everything bad I gave him a zero.

Suction and CUTRE.

ITA - Theoretically the idea is nice, as well as the place, also easy to reach, would be to improve organization and cleanliness. We arrived and the bed was not made up, the shower was not clean, as well as the dirty kitchen and accessories. wi-fi is there but it is as if it were not there. wi-fi is there but it is as if it were not there. not recommended.

PRO: you enter the facility with the code arrived via mail (never met the owners) local wifi ok clean CONTRO: 1 only common bathroom for 4 rooms (cmq clean) double bed made up of 2 single beds united so with an uncomfortable sole in the middle no cabinets in the room the curtains do not filter the light, for those who suffer from light like me in the morning wear the eye mask room not soundproofed, if in the other rooms make a little noise you do not sleep no attachments in the room

We stayed in Moar house for 5 nights if I remember (I'm writing this five months after our stay). There were four rooms in the house which shared the hall/dining area, the kitchen and the bathroom. 
During our stay about 3 couples came and went staying just one night. Probably as a stop on their way around the Ring road... It was a bit awkward to share the common area with strangers but we managed. It would surely be a fun experience for extroverts but we are both introverted. :) So just something to keep in mind when you book. I'm not saying it is a negative.

We barely saw the owners who live the in the second house attached to the guest house. When we did see them they greeted us and smiled. We only once spoke to the lady and she was nice. We had a little chat about our travels, about their chickens (they keep chickens outside :)) and about their dog. Her English was fluent, we had no issues there. I'm writing this because some reviews complained which got me a bit worried before we booked but everything was fine.

The guesthouse is very clean. Kitchen is small but contains all you need to make a simple meal. There is a large fridge, each room has one shelf assigned. :) There are bins for separated trash, pots and pans, cutlery,  mugs and plates... boiling kettle and that glass jar with sieve to make coffee (sorry, don't know the English name for it).

We found cooking oil and loads of salt in the cupboards so I doubt you need to buy salt. :) 

The bathroom and toilet are in one room. Everything is really neat and clean. 

You can park your car outside on gravel yard. You can do your grocery shopping in Akranes which is just a few minutes drive. They is the tourists' most favourite Bonus supermarket too. The view from our room was that of the mountains which we liked. 

There are two things I see as a negative:
- the thing we did miss was a cupboard in the room - some place to hang or store y
our clothes. We kept everything in our suitcases due to this.
- another thing was that when we had company - other guests you could hear quite a lot through the walls which is a pity.

I would happily book again though if we ever travelled in that area.

Guesthouse outside of Akranes

Everything was fine, the cottage, the cleaning, the roof heating, the owner was great!!, he warned us at night to see the Aurora Boreal, he took us in his car and took us photos that he then emailed us, an unforgettable experience!!!!

This is a GENIAL!!

There are some houses in a same place. We stayed the main house where the owner stay. The owner are not able to speak English well. We shared bathrooms which was clean and big enough. We had to pay in cash but we did not receive the information. We were confused, the owner changed her attitude haughty and we are threatened by her to leave. We felt very uncomfortable with the owner's behavior. 敷地にいくつかコテージのようなものがあって、わたし達はオーナーも住んでいる本館の部屋に泊まりました。オーナーは英語があまり通じません。風呂トイレは共同ですが二つあり清潔に掃除されていて使いやすかったです。ここは現金での支払いになります。そのことを知らずに困惑しているとオーナーの態度が一変し威圧的で、出ていけという口調で脅されて怖かったです。

The owner has a bad attitude / オーナーの印象が悪い

We stayed in a cabin (like the one pictured).  As one previous reviewer said, you do need to pay cash but Solla was great in letting us check in and then get cash in town.The location is great with mountain and water views!  The cabin was clean and bright.  You do need to make your bed and clean the cabin before you leave, but we did not find this to be problematic as we knew this when we booked the cabin.
