Stayed in this lovely hotel for four nights and would have been happy to stay longer. Our room (9) had a very comfortable bed, had a balcony with two chairs and a small table, looking out over the rooftops of surrounding buildings. The bathroom was modern, well stocked and had a walk-in raindrop shower.  The rooms were kept very clean each day of our stay.
In the morning, Nikos, the hotel owner, served a fixed breakfast which comes with many delicious options including yogurt, fruit, bread, pies, cakes, fresh orange juice, coffee or tea. 
Location is near to all that Methoni has to offer.
A hotel I highly recommend if you want to stay in Methoni.

What a great boutique hotel in Methoni! The room was very comfortable, the breakfast absolutely fantastic (including the outdoor setting), and the location was very convenient to the beach, castle, and central Methoni area with good dining options. All that a price that makes it a fantastic value. If  you are looking for a place to stay in Methoni and this establishment is available, just stop looking and book it. Highly recommended.

“More home than hotel” is the Ulysses Hotel logo and it’s just fitting. If you’re looking for impersonal luxury, go elsewhere. What you will find here is a small, comfortable and welcoming guest house where the breakfast will keep you going until mid-afternoon! I loved chatting with Nikos (owner) and Egle (cook and dessert specialist extraordinaire) and enjoyed my time there immensely. I spent 12 days at Ulysses Hotel in Methoni in June 2023 and they made me feel so welcome. They were very accommodating, even preparing a sandwich for my 5 AM departure to go to the airport in Athens. The location is perfect: a few street corners away from the beach, the Castle and the restaurants/gift shops. As my pictures show, it’s no wonder the hotel is getting such rave reviews here!

Warm welcome and delightful host. Room 9 was a bit small but had everything we needed for our stay, very clean and comfortable bed. Good shower room/ bathroom. 
The breakfast was marvellous. Set us up for the day! Good location with good choice of restaurants nearby. A lovely stay. Thank you for making our visit so pleasant.

We stayed two days at Ulysses hotell. It is well place in the village of Methoni, near the beach. The building and garden are beautifull. The rooms has a good design and are well equiped. The beds are excellent.

The breakfast is wonderfull. Tea, coffe and homemade orangejuice. Homemade bread and pastery, local cheese, yougert and lots of fruits. The best breakfast I have got in Peleponessos.

This is a really nice hotel with excellent service and breakfast at an ideal location in Methoni. Very close to beach, castle and taverns.
I would strongly recommend it esp if you are a family or a couple and looking for relaxing calm type of holiday.

Named the latinised Ulysses rather than Odysseus because of the ubiquity of the latter, this lovely hotel and owner deserve all the plaudits they receive. Everything in the other reviews is true ! 
To avoid repetition, we loved our two night stay here and found it all very relaxing and comfortable. 
Gloriously hospitable, Nikos will make your stay memorable. 
We too checked it out last year and then determined to book this year and were very happy we did. 
A wonderful small hotel in a great position.

Methoni is a great place especially if you get to stay at the Ulysses Hotel. What a peaceful place this is, with an excellent service and a friendly welcome by host Nikos.
The room is very well maintained and has all the facilities.
The flower covered terrace keeps you nice and cool and is equipped with cozy furniture. 
Breakfast will leave you speechless for a while. Freshly squeezed fruit juice, best quality yohurt with fresh fruit, home made organic bread, samosas, super tasty fruit cake, cheese.... cappuccino...coffees at your choise... thé...
All this for a price that will amaze you !

The Hotel Ulysses says it is "more home than hotel" and I completely agree. The price to value ratio for this place is incredible - you feel like you are staying with very hospitable friends. The location is great - in the center of Methoni, walking distance to both the beach and the upper part of the town and castle; there is street parking right outside the hotel and a lot by the beach a 3 minute walk away. The property is also beautiful - a well restored large home with a lovely lobby and garden where you can eat breakfast; there are stairs to climb to rooms, but nothing major. The breakfast itself is very generous - a boiled egg, fresh bread, cheese pie, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, and a little sweet. No choices, if that is important to you, but everything is so fresh and tasty - I loved it. The owners have lots of nice touches - mosquito plug ins, books, umbrellas and beach towels/equipment to lend, and they send you home with a nice bottle of olive oil. The rooms are small, but nice- very clean, cute terrace, good wifi, excellent water pressure and temperature. Like all of this region, you cannot flush toilet paper and the plumbing is a little slow/weak, but no real complaints. A great stay and we left so relaxed!

This small family run hotel is perfect in many ways. Quietly located, close to the restaurants of Methoni, and close to the castle, but only a 15min drive away from the more lively/touristy Pylos. 
The good size room had a little terrace with 2 chairs, a good bed and bathroom. The breakfast is homecooked, with yoghurt, fruit, home baked bread, etc and is served on the outside terrace full of flowers if whether permits.  
The owner is super friendly and helpful, even offered a bottle of olive oil when leaving.

Despite it being one of the wettest weeks of the year, I enjoyed my stay in this lovely little hotel.  It's simple, authentic and welcoming. The garden patio is such a beautiful spot for the incredible breakfast that is served every day (you won't be able to eat it all!)  My room was immaculately clean with an extremely comfortable bed and small balcony and the shower was perfect for warming up after a damp evening.  It is quiet and peaceful and yet close to the beach, restaurants in the square and Methoni Castle. Highly recommend three restaurants which I will review - Modon which specializes in fish, Old Story and the Trojan Horse Cafe which has the most incredible desserts!  Nikos is a wonderful host and does everything he can to make your stay a pleasant one.  I highly recommend this family run hotel and look forward to returning in better weather!
