U Castellu Guesthouse

We recently returned from our fourth visit to Corsica, and since our second visit where we first found this place, we've had to stay here every time we visit the island. We initially booked a 2-night stay, but ended up staying for 5 nights because we love it so much. The rooms are so beautifully and tastefully decorated, and Maud is just the perfect host, always charming, helpful and genuinely welcoming. The location right in the old center of Algajola is charming and quiet, moved back from the main road as the town center is, but is at the same time perfectly convenient for trips southwest (to Calvi and the beautiful peninsula of La Revellata) or northeast (to L'ïle Rousse and the beautiful Ostriconi beach), or just to hand on the wonderful sand beach of Algajola 5 min walk from the hotel or the more remote Punta Spanu a few kilometers west of Algajola (be aware of the very poor quality of the road). Also worth mentioning is the wonderful breakfast on the rooftop terrace and if you can afford the extra price, the huge room 3 will offer you a beautiful view towards the castellu as well as a bathroom so big that it could house a normal hotel room in itself.
