Very good value for money. If you seek for hotel located close to Churáňov or Zadov ski area, you are in the right place. I guess that this hotel has the best views to the valley and landscape. Rooms are clean, functional, with good TV. Meals are mostly good, just missed juices and some/more vegetables for breakfast, the same for dinners. The rest is tasty, with quantity that you wish - it is a self-service. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. Fast wi-fi with no issues.

Velmi hezkou dovolenou jsme s 2 dětmi strávili v hotelu Zadov v únoru 2013. Jedná se sice o starší hotel, ale dojem vyváží velmi vstřícný personál a atmosféra v hotelu. Obávali jsme se jídla, na základě recenzí, ale nemůžeme si stěžovat. Odpovídalo to standartu - snídaně i večeře - výběr, nic nám nechybělo. V hotelu bylo teplo, využili jsme dětský koutek i  lyžárnu. Také jsme využili slevu na dětskou školičku pro hosty hotelu. Doporučuji pro rodinnou zimní dovolenou.

Very nice holiday we spent with 2 children at Zadov in February 2013. Although this is an older hotel, but the impression is exported very friendly staff and the atmosphere in the hotel. We feared the food, based on reviews, but we can not complain. Corresponded to standard - breakfast and dinner - selection, we lacked nothing. The hotel was warm, we took the children's playground and ski storage. We also took advantage of a discount on nursery school for hotel guests. I recommend for a family winter vacation.

One nice week at hotel Zadov

Pro rodiny s dětmi / for families with children

We stayed just one night and we didn't book in advance - we just turned up at the hotel and ask for a room which was surprisingly no problem at the main holiday season. Yes, it is traditional old comunistic hotel. But we had no complains. Room basic but fine. Small bathroom with shower but good hot water. Amazing views into The Valley. But it is towards the east so you will get woken up early either by the sun (very symbolic blinds) or by the heat. Breakfast very basic. It was good for one or two nights but no more. But we are very picky so I am sure it is fine for other people. Good location too

The hotel is the one from the old communist times :-) There is breath taking view to the valley.
I must say they try their best but it is not easy to change the "genius loci". We were there for longer weekend to walk in this part of Sumava and the location (Stachy, Zadov, Churanov) is great. Our room was clean, meals were tasty with vegetable and fruit as well. For breakfast there was the wide choice for everyone. We enjoyed sauna - even if it comes from good old days, it is functioning well and after all day in the woods it was perfect relax. We have bought it as "special discount" and it was just all right, for full price there are better B&B around.

Perfect place to walking weekend

Don´t be deterred by outside 1980´s aspect. Inside it´s quite OK, especially for large groups looking for good price-to-quality ratio. The in-room furniture and bathrooms are newly renovated, corridors and common areas much less so, yet there is free wifi and an array of play areas for kids (incl. airhockey, pinball, pool tables) plus a sauna and a whirlpool. The bar with a fireplace is extremely cozy as well. Weather permitting (it´s often foggy up there), the place offers nice views into the valley and it has very good access to nearby ski resort. Even without a car it is easily accessible by public transportation, the bus stop is less than 100mts away. Definitely not an upscale place to spend full days inside, but as a base for outdoor activities it is OK.
