Bouda Máma Wellness Hotel

Bouda Máma is a cute small pension with a new 4* hotel in a separate building (but connected by an underground hall). It is quite far from the bus station but the first and the last day of your stay they take you by their car for free (and any other time for 200 CZK). The check in goes smooth and quick and the staff is nice and polite. We had a room in the pension, which was surprisingly nice, modern and comfortable. Ask for the room in the corner of the building - in this room, we had three windows and a view from two different sides of the hotel. From the windows we saw beautiful nature and heard the Úpa river just below the hotel's location. The room is partially wooden which feels really cozy and also very clean. There was lots of space to put our luggage, a big wardrobe and a table with chairs as well as a big and comfortable bed. There is lots of space for your stuff. The bathroom was also great, just the sink was quite shallow and the placement of the battery could have been better. There is also a TV with a few Czech and lots of German channels. There is no AC but since we visited in May we didn't need it. The halls of the pension always smelled really nice. The restaurant was quite typical for Krknonoše - a wooden pub with big tables and benches. It was only full one day when there was a group on trip, other days it was much more comfortable. Both breakfasts and dinners are buffet style but during dinner you order your drinks separately and pay for them - they make great homemade lemonades. The dinners are small, usually around three versions of meal plus pizza, soup, one sweet dish as dessert and some vegetables. It's mostly unhealthy and fat Czech cuisine and it's quite pub like, so expect fried potatoes, greasy meats, creamy sauces and dumplings. It could be of a better quality, but for a few dinners it's okay. During breakfast there are always hot options like eggs, sausages and porridge and also fresh fruit. Definitely have some of their traditional sweet Czech pastry and coffee - it's incredible, even through it's just from a coffee machine. We also had free access to the hotel pool, whirlpool and sauna. Pool is deep and just the right temperature and the whirlpool is big, although quite cold. We really enjoyed our time there and there were little to no people with us there. I really recommend paying for the hotel wellness, which is really nice and cozy. It includes multiple saunas and other heated relaxing rooms, a big whirlpool and other fun procedures. The first half of our stay there we were completely alone, sadly after an hour a group of quite loud ladies came there. It's a shame that the Kneipp's bath only allows you to fill two out of the four water tanks at once, so you can't really walk around as it's intended. The saunas are really hot, especially the colorful one and the Finish sauna, which was around 90 C and no one was able to stay there. But the whirlpool is quite cold. Definitely take some time to visit the relaxation room with a starry sky. You won't go wrong with ordering a massage either, just know that at the massage table, there are armrests underneath the table. I didn't notice them and my shoulders suffered a lot trying to stay on the narrow table.
