I have visited Hukvaldy castle and stopped in the hotel restaurant. Very pleasant personnel and tasty dinner.
Free parking for Hukvaldy village visitors would be great but not case today. Hotel guests can probbaly park for free at the hotel's parking lot, beside the hotel, but please check this during reservation.

Short visit, but nice experience

Very nice location - beautiful in autumn. Stayed there for four days. No problem at all with service. Tasteful food, good wifi connection and relaxing saunas. Really reasonable price. I would recommned this to young couples with cars mostly. Surroundings are worth visiting.

A nice place to visit in autumn time!

Excellent hotel...in the area there are not too many options and hukvaldi hotel perfectly fits, good breakfast, good attention, tranquility, restaurant (al lado) very recommendable...no parking of its own, but you can leave the car outside on the sidewalk.

He is dead!

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. It's a little quirky but generally not too bad. Starting with the good things, the reception, bar and restaurant staff were great and very helpful, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, the view from our room at the front of the hotel on the first floor was beautiful - the village church and the forest behind it. Now the not so good things - room service was intermittent to non-existent. We had our towels changed and rubbish emptied daily but the bed linen wasn't changed and the carpet wasn't vacuumed for the whole of our stay. Add to this the lack of air conditioning (it was very hot while we were there) and there were a number of drawbacks. Having said that Hukvaldy, the birthplace of the composer Janáček, is a lovely village and we'd stay at the hotel again, but maybe for a shorter time.

Good value hotel for a short stay

The hotel was well located as I stayed during the Janacek Festival and there was much to see and enjoy within walking distance. The accommodation varies considerably: my roon on the second floor was clean and adequate with a good sized bathroom (walk in shower). However, the weather was VERY hot and, with no air conditioning and only one small window, it got extremely warm and airless. Other rooms (particularly on the first floor) were larger and some with dual aspect had more windows and a fridge. The service in the bar and restaurant was very friendly and the (young) staff were all charming and very keen to be helpful. The breakfast selection was good and varied at the start of my stay, but gradually became much more limited towards the end - for example, fresh fruit appeared to be at a premium. Some of the towels were changed and the (one, small) bin emptied every other day and there wasn't much evidence of a manager being present. However, all in all, it was an enjoyable stay at a very reasonable price, due largely to the friendly staff - Richard Robert and Barbara in particular.

An enjoyable stay

Nicely appointed room. Very good bar and restuarant. Breakfast is very comprehensive. The bar staff were exceptionally attentive.
The house keepong was a little bizarre. We stayed 5 nights for the Janacel festival. During that time the bed line was not changed (but not really a problem), but the small towels were changed every other day and the bath towel not at all!

Good hotel to visit the castle and the Janacek Memorial House

The hotel is fairly recently refurbished and the public areas are very fresh and well decorated in a recognisable modern hotel style.  The room I had was in the roof.  Quite spacious and with a good-sized bathroom and very clean.  There was only one small window, though with a lovely view, and overall it was rather warm in July and the decoration and furnishings are functional rather than lovely, but everything you need is there, including quick wifi and handy power-sockets.  I ate a couple of times in the hotel restaurant and the food was very good.   You won't go wrong there, although there is at least one excellent restaurant in the village, just round the corner that would also be worth a visit.  Breakfast was also a good variety in a typical Czech style.  All in all, a recommendable place in an exceptionally beautiful part of the world.  It also has a health spa. which I did not try, and a couple of shops attached that sell souvenirs which are a cut above the usual.  Hukvaldy was home to Leo Janacek and my trip coincided with the Janacek festival, with the inestimable bonus of a world-class performance of Dvorak and Smetana by the Smetana Trio in the hotel itself.  Its function room made an ideal venue - spacious and light with a good acoustic.  For that, the hotel deserves a rating of 5, but sadly that was a one off.  The village itself and the surrounding countryside are the definition of 'bucolic' in its best sense.
