Buena Vista Villas

We stayed at the Tulamar Bungalows Resort over Spring Break in March (look for a separate review on the resort itself, but in a word - gorgeous!), and the staff at the resort - part of Buena Vista Villas - was fantastic! They really helped make our stay a perfect getaway in this amazing country. We would go back again in a heartbeat, and stay for even longer. Our main focus for coming to this region was the Manuel Antonio National Park, which was incredible in and of itself, and which I highly recommend seeing (with a guide in particular). We had a few extra days here, though, and wanted to get the most out of the resort and the nearby area. Our private concierge, Orlando (Cortes), helped us to fully enjoy both the resort and the region. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive, answering all of our questions about possible activities for the four of us (including a 10-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl). He helped arrange the parasailing excursion we decided to do on our 'off day', as well as recommending good restaurants when we wanted to leave the resort and head into a nearby town for a meal one evening. He would check in on us each day while we were in the resort to make sure all was well, and even helped us find the family pool after we took a wrong turn while walking without a map on our first day. ;) Orlando helped us fully enjoy this portion of our trip! Each member of the staff with whom we interacted was great as well, including Giancarlo, the shuttle driver who always seemed to appear when we were in need (recognizing us and calling out our children's names which made them feel important :) ), and Manny, in the restaurant who was really helpful over the phone when we ordered in and who made sure to point out to us where the resident sloth was located around the restaurant so we could get a great look. The staff, part of the Buena Vista Villas family, really helped make this fabulous resort into an incredible experience, and I can't recommend them enough. :)
