Mahalo House is highly recommended.The place is cozy and the people who work there are very friendly.In addition, they give you tips and recommendations to make the most of your visit to San Andrés.Certainly, you will feel like you are staying at home.

Highly recommended.

The room is small, but we feel comfortable! Clean, with air conditioning, private bathroom, but without refrigerator, which we didn't need, because there is a refrigerator in the kitchen that we can use! Besides, the common area is great, a space with a garden, very pleasant and even has a beautiful doghouse, we feel at home, the hosts were nice and left us very comfortable! However, we find the location a point that deserves attention because it is 3 km from the center. If the option is to stay away to stay the bus from the center, don't settle down, because the house on the road that runs all over the island, then you have a bar without the egg, even though you don't have any discomfort! So the beach is also defined as a low-cost place to go to the beach, and the price of the coffee is still very low, and the price of the ticket is around 250 thousand or so, and the price of the ticket is still around 120 minutes, so if the price is set in the center, it's really worth it!

Does it make up for it?

We stayed 4 nights in this couple accommodation. The accommodation is located along the road that leads from the center of San Andrés to San Luis and to get around is essential a motorbike. The center is still reachable in 10 minutes drive. The accommodation is comfortable and clean, equipped with a garden, and wifi operating in common areas, slower from the room. The rooms were clean, with private bathroom, air conditioned, but without hot water.

It's welcoming.

Im from Colombia, but live in NYC and every year I do a mandatory stop in S.A.I on my time off. This year my family decided to tag along and with hotels charging more yearly, I began looking for other options. I was taken back at how easily, affordable, and flexible Alejandro, and the staff, were at Mahalo House with my needs. We went from 2 rooms, to three, finally four, and talking back and forth with Alejandro was hassle free. 
As a "semi" local of San Andres, I know my way around, but it was such a relief to have new recommendations, help from Alejandro getting a 4x4 Polaris car to move my fam around easier, and just having that Go-to person in the island for any "ifs". Hotel staff isn't going to give you that.

The house was great! I loved the open concept and meeting for b-fast everyday on the giant surf table was awesome! Consuelo, makes you feel right at home and feeds you just like one of her own. My fam and I really felt the great energy and positive vibes in the house.We all agreed there would be a return trip next year.

The house is at a great location because its far enough from the center market area, where everyone parties until late hours of the night, yet a quick 5min ride if you want to partake.
We found it great that it was closer to the San Luis beaches(better) and were able to just walk down to the Mangroves national park, as well as do more sigh-seeing on the island. People tend to stay in the commercial sector of the island but there is so much to see and explore. I was one of those; not anymore thanks to Alejandro!
All in all, great vibe, great amenities, you'll feel right at home, and certainly get your moneys worth staying here. I'll be coming back and staying here next January, for sure!

Perfect for couples & groups. Ideal for exploring as a local

The hostel is very well located, close to the entrance to the mangroves, so the two main beaches of the island are relatively close by both by taxi and bus. The facilities of the house are in excellent condition and the toilet service already cleans the room every day. There is a backyard that is very nice and has additional rooms with private bathrooms and greater privacy. The breakfast is varied and there is an additional freezer with drinks to pay for. The best is the attention of the owners Consuelo and Alejandro, who make the guest feel at home.

Excellent option for low cost and good quality.

The island is paradise. The house is very neat and clean facilities. You are served a full and varied breakfast. You have the option to buy cold drinks. Very cozy, family atmosphere. The treatment very cordial. I would come back again on my next visit.

Wonderful stay!

Although it is a little far from the center, the hostel is located in the center of the island, easy to make all kinds of trips, whether north or south! The service is great, it has its differential, intimate and cozy! Great rooms, with air conditioning and TV, plus free wifi, rare in San Andres! Breakfast prepared on time! Very good!!
