We love, super attentive, makes you feel comfortable. The place is very safe, and very well located, several markets, banks, pharmacy and restaurant. Close to Christ, near the beach and near the beaches (on the beach we went by subway, 10 minutes walk to the subway station)

First time in the RJ

There's no TV in the individual room, the door doesn't lock, they forgot to clean my room for three days straight, the cafe isn't served on time, it says it has Wi-Fi but it doesn't work, employees are sloppy with the service, don't decorate you like some other hostels! It looks more like a roadside inn. The bathroom is pathetic, it's not easy to move inside the box, they were using drill holes in the bathroom wall at 10:30 p.m., I've been to many hostels but this one I don't return, except expensive for nothing it offers!

Run away.

Next to the metro catete, redentor, next to the supermarket itau bradesco onibus at the door. the mansion are two sisters, inside the same has 2 hostels the Hey Rio and Redentor (there is a difference in values). if you like to stay in the hostel I do not recommend because the living area is poor Hostel has no parking but the street is closed by a shed as soon as the vehicle is protected

Good cost benefit

I stayed at this hostel a while back, I apologize for the late evaluation. It was my first experience in the hostel and I was really surprised! I went on vacation and I loved the place, we got a double room, with extra bed for my son, everything is clean, cozy, the location is very good, I walked to Christ, we took a bus to walk the rest of the city, and it worked super right! Quality service with great tips.

Very good, I'd be back

I stayed 30 days very well hosted thanks to a great service, a good room, mainly because the house is old, wonderful people who make you feel good and at home. I went to the studio and stayed in a women's dormitory. It was better than I expected! In addition to the reception being wonderful, it was very quiet to divide the room, mainly because of the structure allowing private bathroom, space, refrigerator and no problem with dirt. It is a beautiful house, very well located old building. The only problem was to discover the conflict that there is between this hostel and the Redentor Hostel that occupies the same house. It is a little complicated, but I'm much more pleasant to stay in the same room, Rio. It's a very nice room and not to feel sorry for some special occasions caused by the owner of the Redentor (owners of the Redentor).

I stayed 30 days very well hosted

The hostel is very nice and clean. The dormitory where I slept was for six beds and had two bathrooms which is very confortable. The showers are nice too. The staff is very helpful and nice. The breakfast is also very good whith cake, sandwiches, and fruits.

Very good hostel in Laranjeiras

- Bad attendance: the hostel is in the same place as another hostel and the reception teams are different for each of them. The problem is that the two ladies don't get along well and they stick around all the time. They seemed unbalanced. We felt a heavy and unpleasant climate. Not from the time we arrived until the time we left. The guy who stayed at the reception at night made a super noise in the kitchen, just sneezed super loudly at night. - Cleanliness and room conditions: the room wasn't very clean and, one day, there appeared a very large and hairy lagarette on the floor.

Good location, but the rest isn't worth it.

I really enjoyed my time at Cafe Rio! We visited for carnival and shared a family room with friends. The hostel is very charming, the rooms are basic but cheap and kept clean and include lockers which can be a rarity. The best bit was the owners - absolutely lovely and accommodating! They let us know the best parties to go to during carnival. The hostel is in a quieter district so you’ll have to jump in cabs because the train isn’t near but is definitely recommend staying. 

Charming hostel!

I booked this room as was promised a view and a balcony. Insteady I got a view of a brick wall! When I questioned this the manager shrugged her shoulders and said they only have one room as advertised and it was booked...false advertising. Our room had an aircon system directed straight to where u lie in bed, making it freezing when in bed. It also leaked all over the floor (and our clothes). Obviously not the 1st time as the nearby walls and floor were mouldy! No hostel friendly feel which we were expecting. It is located in a good spot though, you can see whether christ the redeemer is clear from the main road. Liveable but dont expect to get what their promo photos suggest...see real life ones below!

Great location...shame about the mould.

I love Mexican food and this place is my all time favorite! They have tasty fresh food that will have you counting the seconds until your next visit. They are actually making the tortillas while you are waiting in line to place your order. The shredded chicken reminds me of chicken noodle soup. We have tried all of their meats and have found that they are all delicious.
