I stumbled upon this place because I arrived at Paraty late and could not find the place that I had booked. For half the price, Pousada Brisamar offered a room for three, with your own bathroom, a delicious breakfast and gated parking. Since this was right after Carnaval, when people head out to the Costa Verde to relax, this was a great deal. Walking the 10 min to town is not so much fun though, and there arent too many restaurants surrounding the place. I greatly appreciated the view of the harbor with all those sails at dawn, and that the place was quiet and has a cozy homely feel to it. A perfect setting for me who just got out of Rio. You have the option of AC or a fan. The washroom is clean and not humid. There's a tv with about 5 channels. Only Portuguese. On your way to downtown, you will find pharmacies and convenience stores with cheaper prices. It's best for Brazilian families who drove into Paraty, or couples who want a relaxing place away from the bustle of downtown.
