For those who come to the mountain range and want to enjoy the city of Carlos Barbosa, the hotel is right in the center.

To start with, the price they told us at the reception was 399.00 a day for the couple. The next day, I looked up the booking and I saw that the prices there usually range from 239.00 to 259.00. I asked them at check-out time and they said they change the price on some dates... Okay, change a little, but an increase of about 160.00 in an old and simple hotel like this is not good. We only stayed because we were tired and we didn't have any other option in town.

First and last time at this hotel

Hotel well located near the towns of Garibaldi, Farroupilha and Bento. Old (classic) hotel, but well preserved. The rooms have heating and air conditioning, there is no way to go cold. Shower with low pressure, but super hot. Simple breakfast, there could be more varieties, but what I had was good. Free parking, and easy access. They were following all health protocols. Care ok. Reception 24h.

Quiet hotel

San Carlos reminds me a bit of those classic hotels, with improved decoration and more exquisite furniture. The apartment we stayed in front of, with outlet, was of good size, bathroom idem. The breakfast is good, but it could be better, there is a covered garage (a few spaces) and the location is excellent and with panoramic views. Great cost-benefit.

On high ground overlooking the city

It's a very quiet hotel with good care. Very good breakfast. Optimal Wi-Fi, both at the reception and in the room. They offer mate [chimarrao] every morning. And in its location, it's very close to the Carlos Barbosa Center.

Tourist travel

The oldest hotel in Barbosa is 29 years old and certainly an example of how the city and the population of the Sierra works. A hotel in Italian style, older furniture but everything very clean carefully and impeccably! Breakfast in colonial style is very tasty! The hotel is quiet and you can rest super well. We love the stay! Hotel staff also very dear and trustworthy.

We stayed at the hotel this December. I found the hotel cozy, well-attended and cordial. The problem was the strong smell of naphthalene, because I'm a little allergic and don't find a pleasant perfume. The hotel is very clean. However, the smell of antique could change. The bed linen is very clean, but it also smells the same. The hotel is well located, very close to Garibaldi. Very good breakfast. I recommend. Think about changing the smell of the whole hotel. It makes a big difference.

Suggestion not to use naphthalene

I've been working at this hotel for 25 days... clean accommodation even if it's in the furnishings and sanitary facilities... local non-international breakfast with lots of fruit and homemade sweets... no English or other languages except local... Wi-Fi on the weekend or with a crowded hotel... it was very whimsical!

Not modern but okay.

The rooms are not very large and have carpets, but they look clean and do not smell bad, the furniture looks a bit tidy, but in Brazil it is worse.

Characteristic

A small hotel in Carlos Barbosa that reminds you of Bayern in Germany. At least the outside. The inside is simple but cozy, the staff is helpful and nice. 
Price is reasonable so you can stay here if you want to explore the Vale de Vinhedos region.
