Auerhiasbauer

We decided to visit Salzkammergut and especially Wolfgangsee for a short trip (3 nights). After some investigation we booked Auerhiasbauer based on positive reviews on Booking.com. We expected to stay sideways from the busy St. Wolfgang with a great view. Few days we confirmed our stay to Heidi, and we received a detail description how to find the house. The small roads are not included in the navigation maps. We did not have problem to find the house, do not be afraid of narrow steep roads though. We were welcomed by Heidi, she speaks English, so communication were not problem. We had the upper apartment (Panorama) which is biggest one and suitable for us with two children (2 and 4). The apartment was nice and simple, with everything you need. Someone may miss the dishwasher, but it was not our case. The view from apartment is just awesome. From the main window you can see lake and surrounding mountains, from the side windows you can see Schafberg, the local famous mountain. There is small playground outside and a plenty of fields for children to play. The owner have a few calf (kids had a change to feed them), goats, cats. The surrounding area is very nice to have a small walk (fields, forest, ...). You can have a small walk to the center of St. Wolfgang (about 20 minutes), please do mind that the return trip is steep uphill (for someone might be not so easy), or just take car for 5 minutes trip. You can find many paid parking places in St. Wolfgang, but it would be probably not so easy in the summer season. The area of Wolfgangsee is very nice and there is plenty things to do. It is a bit more expensive, but this is a tax for beauty. We would like definitely to go back and, if possible, stay again in Auerhiasbauer.
