Completely confusing service - despite the presence of the boss and the boss have forgotten our order gave no excuse for it can only urge you - so you do not want to be treated as a guest

Hostel

Nice room but housekeeping to see! Hair everywhere. Old-fashioned decoration. Normal home.

Behaviour to Be Revisited

Like most of the gasthof, it's in the center of the main street, so if you sleep with your windows open you hear enough noise. Small spacious rooms, not very thorough cleaning. The gasthof is historic and beautiful on the outside. Nice garden with bar in the back. Very good breakfast. Good reception (after 9 pm no more dinner). They have got us put the bikes in the garage. Good for a short overnight stay of a few days.

Family management. Essential accommodation, comfortable room. Good and varied breakfast, with some homemade sweets.

Good value for money

It was a Sunday Evening and most of Golling was asleep I entered the bar & was told I was welcome . I was pleased as I wasn't staying there so I had a few beers and the place was friendly with pleasant staff 

The beer was cheap  2.80 EU  per 500 ml and was of a good quality " Kaiser "

The only problem was that they place was full of smoke - I though all of Europe was
now non smoking ? But not in this bar / hotel

I have stayed here with my boyfriend. Room is basic, but ok. I was shocked it was smoking area everywhere when we went for one beer after arrival. After that we did some sigh seeing and returned in the evening and I was shocked even more. Not only smoke from cigarettes all over hotel, but also very loud music. Internet did not work in our room, so we had to sit in the sitting area. Full of smoke and very loud music. I had to return to room as I cant be in smoked area too long from healthy reasons. Music was loud till 11 or 12 pm, not sure exactly as we were trying to sleep. In the morning at breakfast room still smelled like cigarets. I do not recommend this hotel to non smokers.

Not nice experience

It's a lovely hotel 2 steps from Salzburg. Spacious rooms... but suitable for the place.

I'm not sure.

We were a group that came into the dining room after 10:30 p.m. and even though the kitchen was closed at 9 p.m., we still had something to eat, I have to count that high, breakfast buffet very rich, nice dining room and breakfast room.

Old-fashioned, nice, friendly and very hard-working.

I totaly agree with comments of the last review dated February 2015 and I am very surprised about any positive comments. Perhaps this Gasthof offers different rooms for different clients. 
I can also add to it lack of hot water. We came to this Gasthof on 24th of August 2015. There was hot water for very short time. When we came back from Salzburg that evening the water was cold. It happens sometimes (although not often) that at the end of the day hot water runs out (usually not completely) so I waited until next morning but the water was still cold. For the first time from 30 years I had to wash my hair in cold water. Lack of shower and shower hook or curtain was a secondary issue in this case
. Also there was no wifi in our room, but our family who stayed in another room had access ( but still no hot water). I gave them more stars than February reviewer because I believe they only have 3 *, so outdated furniture was not such an issue, but even 2* hotels offer warm water.

Unpleasent experience

The rooms are not the most modern, but the price value, unfortunately the heating can not really be regulated in some rooms heat in other cold, that was the only point of criticism.
