We spent three nights at Elm Lodge. The best part was the great location that was within walking distance to everything in Bright. The hosts were very responsive to our requests, i.e., fixed a lamp that did not work and provided an air purifier due to some mildew smell. The front veranda was a convenient place to leave our bikes when we weren't out on the rail trail.

Comfortable location

We came here for the weekend. It's a contactless check-in as you are sent a code before your arrival to unlock the lodge.

We booked the 2 bedroom fully self-contained unit. It was clean and spacious. The first bedroom had 2 single beds attached, with an additional single bed, and the second bedroom had a queen-size bed. 

The living room had an air conditioner, TV & DVD player. The full kitchen had an electric stove, fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, cutlery, and crockery. The bathroom had a bathtub and towels.

The rooms had extra blankets/pillows and a built-in heater in the mattress (it can get really cold at night). 

The unit comes with a parking spot right in front of it, but we did struggle the first day as another unit took it. 

There is access to a free laundry facility in the backyard. 

Very clean unit and so close to the city. Hardly 150m from Bright's town center and 10 minutes drive to Mount Buffalo National Park.

Great accommodation in Bright

Great option for people exploring Bright - walk to shops/cafes, good parking, nice and quiet street. Great outdoors area if the weather is good with table/chairs/bbq. Rated as a 3 star but I would say at the top end of 3 stars.

Property had spiders, cobwebs, doors falling off, mould in bathroom, smelt stale, tv didn’t work, no milk for tea or coffee provided. Had better experience in hostels

Very dim place, they need to install more lights or at least put new bulbs. A bit dirty but not horrible. I would not say there again especially for 200$ per night. Location is nice , but Bright is a small town and everything basically is close to the center. 

Not the worst place , but not the best for sure

In a quiet location even though it was close to town centre. Basic and clean.

Pro: old cottage charm, near with essential shops, homie, best location.Cons: Interior need update desperately , backyard need to update and clean specially BBQ area. This place has so much potential.

I was disappointed on entering Elm Lodge, unlike its characterful exterior the interior was tired, cold and musty. The accommodation is missing some of the basics that you assume might be available such as iron, ironing board and hairdryer. Hot water is shared between units so on a cold morning a trickle is less than impressive. Great location but needs money spent on it. The stove was about 30 years old and needed cleaning, lights that didn’t work and towel rails that fell off the wall. You can get better for the price. On a brighter note, the bed and electric blanket were cosy.

Less than I expected

My children and I liked all aspects of this accommodation. It was spacious, had all the facilities we could need and was in a fantastic location. Would definitely stay again.

This review should be passed on to the owner but it's only fair to tell everyone our experience.
For a self contained unit it was of a reasonable size and spacious.
Unfortunately no one has ever cleaned under the beds as we found rocks, plastic, socks and a ball. Food in the bedside table and a dirty towel hanging in the cupboard. The dishes and cutlery had to be washed before use as they had food all over them.
The 2 couches have never had the cushions removed in their life as it was disgusting to see under them with the food and rubbish accumulating.
Look for the price you are in the heart of town but a clean room is a must.
