Agama Lodge

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Very comfortable spacious rooms with your own terrace and also a great roof terrace with fantastic views, (there is a bed on the terrace which they will make up for you if you want to sleep there). The parking is right by your door. There is a lovely pool area to relax by after climbing 'Big Daddy" sand dune! It takes around 45 minutes from here to get to the main entrance of the National Park. 
The staff are first class whilst the food was very good with buffet style one night and a la carte on the other. Thank you to the chefs for providing very good gluten free food. We also very much enjoyed the scorpion and star gazing walk. There are lots of warthogs around the hotel, make sure you are there for their feeding late afternoon. We would happily return.

We enjoyed 3 nights at Agama Lodge and loved the views, the quiet nature, the spacious room and the delicious food.  The staff were very attentive and helpful.  We booked a great tour to Sossusvlei with the Agama Lodge guide and had a wonderful day visiting the park and the dunes.  

The Agama Lodge is a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert. It's also a great base for exploring the Sesriem Canyon and the famous high dunes of Sossusvlei. The distance is approx. 120 km, easily accessible with a 4x4 vehicle.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a drink. The staff is consistently very friendly; we immediately felt at home.

The lodge offers spacious and clean bungalows with private parking right outside. Our bungalow had two terraces with breathtaking views of the desert. The rooftop terrace was particularly beautiful; you could even sleep there under the African starry sky. 
Unfortunately, there was no Wi-Fi in the bungalows themselves, but it was available in the lobby.
The lodge also offered a beautiful infinity pool with views of the fantastic surrounding landscape. You could even spot kudu and oryx antelopes near the lodge. The delicious food, freshly cooked daily, was served buffet-style, and you could enjoy it outside on a beautiful terrace by the campfire.
We felt very comfortable at Agama Lodge and can highly recommend it!

Agama Lodge turned out to be a fantastic choice and, in many ways, exceeded our expectations. We would happily recommend it – both because of the comfortable bungalows and the excellent food.

The location between Solitaire and Sesriem couldn’t be better for exploring the region. Naukluft National Park is within easy reach, and despite the lodge’s remote setting, you can get to all the main attractions without any hassle – especially Sossusvlei. At the same time, the lodge itself gives you a real sense of space and peace as soon as you arrive.

The bungalows were nice. They are spacious and spotless. The minimalist design fits into the desert environment. We especially loved the private rooftop terrace, which offers stunning views of the landscape and, at night, the most incredible starry sky – something you just don’t get in places affected by light pollution.

If there is one small drawback, it’s that the rooms can’t really be darkened. The curtain at the entrance is quite thin, and the window doesn’t have any blackout option, which might bother light-sensitive sleepers.

What makes the lodge truly special, though, is the atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and attentive without being intrusive, and you immediately feel at ease. The pool area is another highlight, beautifully set up with sweeping desert views – absolutely magical at sunset.

The food also deserves a mention. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a good variety and consistently fresh ingredients. Compared to other lodges we stayed at in Namibia, the quality here stood out. On top of that, the drink prices are very fair.

Overall, Agama Lodge strikes a perfect balance between comfort, excellent service, and the unique beauty of the Namibian desert. For us, it was an ideal place to relax after a long day of exploring, and we would return.

We stayed 3 nights in this desert paradise. The staff are incredible and our overall stay was very comfortable. The food is amazing and we were very sad to leave!

The  pool  looks out to the warthogs! A young man fed them and we watched all of the animals, such a treat! I would highly recommend this place!

This place was truly amazing and you definitely will feel safe and secure with them! 
I stayed here with my husband for our honeymoon and we were blown away by their hospitality and service. I misplaced my jewelry and IDs in the hotel and only realized that I didn't have them when I got back in Canada. Contacted the resort and the staff went above and beyond to help me get my valuables back. I'd like to give thanks to Helene, Klaus and Sloa for all you help and you deserve to receive credits for your honesty and all the assistance you gave me till I receive my stuff back. Forever grateful!

A very welcome reception. Well organized, well trained and polite staff. About 1 hour drive from sossusvlei gate an oasis of rest. Good price / Quality balance. Nice activities organized. Good airco and clean rooms. Lovely bathroom. Diner was simple but good in a nice setting outside by the pool area.

Perfect Lodge Infinity Pool

This place is an oasis in the desert! I'm told it was recently remodeled and they did an amazing job. 

The chalets are comfortable, clean, spacious, and have outdoor seating and roof seating (great for star gazing). The bathroom was spacious and set up perfectly for two (or even more) people. 

The buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious and drinks were reasonably priced. 

The pool area was serene and comfortable, great views of the mountains. Though it's close to the road, it's still very quiet. They have a watering hole where we saw Oryx and a mother warthog with her babies were running around every day. 

The staff and management were warm and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Desert Oasis

I really loved this property and do plan to come back with my family next year. I loved the lodges and the rooftop sleeping option (we did not opt for that this round but next round for sure!). You can literally sleep under the stars! Everyone was courteous, professional, and kind. I highly recommend it. The only drawback was the lack of wifi anywhere in the whole area.

We stayed for 2 nights at the start of our 15 day Namibian road trip, and we absolutely loved it.  The lodge was beautiful, well furnished, spacious and comfortable.  The lodges, restaurant and pool have a great outlook over the distant mountains, and it was lovely to see Warthogs and Oryx wandering around.  Food was delicious and the staff were lovely!

Wonderful place to spend our first 2 nights in Namibia

My wife and I had a memorable weekend at Agama Lodge.  Being set slightly away from Sossusvlei, Agama Lodge is more peaceful and relaxing and we could appreciate the tranquility of the desert.  The room we had was perfect and comfortable, the pool area is ideal to take a relaxing break and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.  We took the day tour to Sossusvlei and can highly recommend it - insider knowledge allowed us to appreciate and learn about the environment beyond the main sights.

The only sad thing?  That we had to leave so soon!  Highly recommended.

Wonderful desert weekend retreat

We stayed 2 nights at the Agama Lodge at the start of a 12 day tour of Namibia, and it was a great start to our tour. The lodge was beautiful, and it was great to see Warthogs and Oryx close to the pool area. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. We even celebrated our anniversary in the sky bed with canapes and a bottle of bubbly, though it did get a bit too windy and we had to retire to our bedroom. Dinners and breakfasts were good and plentiful with grilled game meats and fresh salads.
