Moganshan Pinhouwu Hotel 

A wonderful family run hotel. I felt so at home during my stay. They were a lovely family who actually asked me to eat with them for dinner one night. It was a great experience sitting with the three of them and enjoying the variety of delicious food they had put on for me. They asked me the night before what I enjoy eating...I had no clue they were asking so we could take a meal together. The hotel is clean, modern rooms but simple. Nice hot shower after a day trekking(Of which there is many ways to go from the hotel) and great meals at wonderful prices. It would be very easy to take advantage of a traveller in this part with very little choice in the village. But they have a beautiful range of food and very affordable. All around the area, there is construction going on with this area obviously now getting popular with all kinds of folk. Chinese and foreign travellers alike. It has a wonderful feel to it though. So peaceful and remote enough to be away and feel drifting out of a city into nature. I loved the trekking and thats why I came here. They also have bike hire and at the guesthouse itself you can hire a bike all day at a great price. Having trekked and biked the mountain I can urge anyone to take a few days here and take in the area. Google translate was brilliantly helpful for me here, nobody speaks English and thats what also makes it a bit more challenging. I came from Shanghai and had been working there for a month. It was brilliant to get out and into a place not surrounded by the usual coffee shops and fast food places that Shanghai is ever growing( A real shame). It was quite by accident I came here, my train to Guilin was cancelled due to weather and I wanted nature. This came up on my searches. Moganshan a stunning place and I'm delighted I got to see it and take my time here. Meeting the family and the dogs and staying here I wouldn't change for the world. I'm so glad I was able to spend time here. I feel its a brilliant stay with good folk who will take care of ye. And the facilities are all magic. Comfy bed, hard, but personally I prefer that. Enjoy your time with these folks and the surrounding area.
