We really enjoyed our stay here . It very relaxing g and cozy . The hosts treated us so warmly as if we were family . The food was well beyond what we expected and very tasty and good.  A truly wonderful experience here . 

This is a first class B & B. The owners are not "in your face" ( A plus for us).
The food & room were great. The location is in a posh neighborhood.  There are few rooms ...library, solarium etc which are very comfortable as well.

The mansion is full of old world charm.

We recently spent three lovely days at this delightful Inn.  We arrived over three hours late at 12:15am, due to a late train, to be greeted at the door by Bob, our welcoming host.  After a very comfortable sleep in our spacious suite we were treated to a gourmet breakfast, cooked by Mavis, our hostess.  They both made sure we had everything we needed, bikes were discussed and provided, even the offer of a car!  We enjoyed strolling the neighbourhood with it's character homes, and loved the library at the bottom of the street where we were attended by very helpful staff.  The house itself is spacious and renovated beautifully in keeping with it's time period.  We were very comfortable there.
The inclusion of daily chocolate in our room was an appreciated treat.  We will plan to return soon.  Thank you!

The River Gate inn is plain awesome. We touched down in Winnipeg for one night en route to Flin Flon and opted for the inn because of it's situation in an older, very pretty part of the city. The home itself has been restored magically and lovingly by the current owners and the results are brilliant. The rooms are comfortable, clean, spacious and decorated flawlessly. Worth a stroll around the grounds and neighbourhood as well - all beautiful. The breakfast, made early at our request, was delicious, and obviously made with care. 

Thanks Mavis, our host. You made the Victoria inn in flin flon look like a dungeon. 

My wife and I stayed in this hotel on our final night in Winnipeg. The rooms had lots of character as did the guests lounges, breakfast room and conservatory with some really old fashioned furniture. Bedrooms were well accommodated with extras provided. The hotel has lovely private grounds with views of the Assiniboine River at the rear. Although not in central Winnipeg this is a quiet residential area it is only a 40 minute walk to Downtown Winnipeg.
