The View Hotel

The View Hotel is unsurpassed in Monument Valley. It sits on the edge of an area so that all the rooms have an unbelievable view. The service was good and everyone was friendly. Of course, we were friendly and thankful to them also. The breakfast buffet is small and limited but certainly had enough to fill you up. The dinner menu is not expansive but we found the food good. Our top items were the green chile stew and the green chile quesadilla. We did stop at Goulding' Lodge for lunch. It had a bigger selection but we still thought The View Hotel had better quality. The beds were comfortable and the only thing I found lacking was the pillows. Bring your own if you want a softer one. I used our down jackets and stuffed them in a pillowcase which sufficed. We went on an incredible cultural tour with Navaho Spirit Tours. They take you places that you are not allowed on the 17 mile self drive in the valley. But the self drive was fabulous also. The rooms all have a balcony to watch the sunrise each morning. If you expect The Four Seasons, I don't know where you could stay in Monument Valley. Enough Said.
