TV didn't work, dust and tree leaves under the bed, no enhanced cleaning, no central heating/ac, squeaky beds/doors/faucets, were not provided with clean towels or a clean room the following day because this location doesn't clean due to the pandemic, empty soap container, no tissue, warped/sunken mattresses, no iron/ironing board, no blow dryer, hair and spider in the tub, spiderwebs throughout the room, dirty/stained walls (brown, dry blood), no amenities, almost out of instant coffee in the lobby and had to scrape the sugar and creamer, city closes early, nice country decor, beach is 2-3 mins away.

Wouldn't stay here for free

I have been to this inn for 3 nights when  relatively clean. Very close to highway but once window closed it is ok. They don't offer breakfast just instant coffee in the lobby. There is small nice coffeshop near by (3 mnt walk) but it closes early. I think it is a good deal if you are visiting Santa Barbara.

Nice

From the reviews, I was very skeptical about staying here.  But for the price and time I would be spending there, I booked a room.
I was actually pleasantly surprised--I actually really liked the Inn--but you do need to be open to something a little "different'...its not the Hilton.
The owner is Chinese and she is very nice, but her English is broken and while she tries to help, I'm not sure it's communicated properly.  Her adult son is living there now-so best to deal with him if necessary.
The Inn is really cool- it's an old home/inn with rooms and they still use "keys." Yes, the carpet is old and everything else, but I found my room #4 to be spotless.  I had a huge canopy bed, but did bring my own pillows.  Amenities are slim (soap, lotion) but you have to remember- you are paying $100/nite in Santa Barbara by the ocean.

Much better than expected

I would suggest that you never should stay here. Me and my family (3 people) came here and thought “this looks pretty good”, but when we went into our room, what caught my eye was the microwave. It was dirty and an ant was crawling on it. We checked the closet and there was a door behind the door that opens the closet. We tried opening the door and it was locked. There was other things but I don’t want to  be to harsh. We overall felt uncomfortable. We were given room #9, we also got our money back so that was good. But overall I wouldn’t stay here

Very uncomfortable

It's all about expectations.  If you expect a property with an ocean view to be worth 100.00..and be perfect,...with breakfast and all the amenities of a high class B&B.... when all the area comps are at least 200.00 more than that, then you're a sap.  
    We stayed for a night...old..and in some disrepair...but the bed was clean and comfortable..the bath redone and clean...and for those reviewers who have a problem with the owner because her English is a bit tricky...I'd say...lighten up....

It's OK

We expected to have a lovely birthday celebration. At first glance the room was charming and vintage. Then I sat down on the chair and nearly fell through. Both chairs when sat in put us about 12 inches from the ground. No cooling. The bed was VERY hard and well used. We both had back issues the next day. The floors were dirty (hair) as well as the towels were stained with questionable attached hair. No minin room coffee maker and when we went to the office to get coffee all that was available was Tasters Choice instant coffee. Had we not been so tired from traveling we would have asked for a refund. We will NOT be returning to this hotel. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for the service.

Bummer in the summer

We stayed here for a week the rooms were very clean the owner was very attentive location is great close to Red Kettle coffee close to the beach close to the highway close to the train station close to the bus station close to Santa Barbara you can't ask for more and you can't beat the price.

Great homey place in Summerland

We have stayed here twice, mostly because it is the most reasonable hotel in the Santa Barbara area.  The grounds are nice and the rooms clean but old.  Fun little downtown you can walk to and nice hike nearby also.  Unless you're planning on hanging out at your hotel all day, this one works!

Quirky, but great location

We found this B&B by chance in our on-the-road on the Pacific coast... unfortunately in the summer it was all set up so the free offers were limited but this facility gave us everything.

It's not bad!

It was a small inn that looked very nice from the outside, but left a lot to be desired in the rooms: the antiques were charming, but you had to be careful to open the cupboard without holding the door. The ceiling lighting didn't work. The bedding looked like antique furniture. The shower was only 5 minutes warm, then ice cold. When I told the operator, she refused. The lady was generally quite grumpy and not very informative. There was no breakfast, only coffee, not even hot water. Overall, everything was a little smelly.
