If you are in Park City for SKIING, this is the place to be.  Rustic, cheap, hundred yards from the base at Park City.  Highly recommend.

Very friendly. Extremely convenient, just a few steps from the lift.

Great hotel for ski trip. If you’re a Karen/Kevin and your ski outfit will grace instagram not the slopes, go somewhere else. This is a wonderful hotel with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms that is easy walking distance to the slopes and downtown park city. It’s run by friendly people who enhance your stay.

For what it is, it’s a great property. A bit dated, but great location for a reasonable price. Owners are nice and helpful. Thanks.

Iconic, quintessential ski lodge so close to Payday lift.  Basic breakfast items.  Plentyof Hot water! Love the fireplace in the lobby. Recommend the coffee shop at the library! 10 min walk to grocery store or to down town park city. Very walkable! Overall a really nice basic place. Not many of these around anymore.

Close to lift and town and iconic ski lodge

This is an old fashioned, basic ski lodge.  Reminded me of childhood ski trips!
Dont expect luxury or frills.  However, the room was clean, the bed comfortable.  The tiny bathroom was completely adequate.  Breakfast is also basic: coffee, oatmeal packets, toast and peanut butter and jelly, cold cereal and milk,  and store type muffins.  Considering the price of food in Park City, this saved us a bundle.
The great news: perfect location- 4 minute walk to ski lifts.  Easy 14 min walk in to Old Town.  
Very helpful staff- I asked for a hairdryer and was handed one immediately (with a smile).
We loved our stay.

Basic, and just what we needed!!

Just as advertised.  A great place to stay if you want to be close to the slopes and walking distance to Old Town.  No frills, but decent continental breakfast to get your day started, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff.A big plus is being able to leave your bags at the lodge and they allow you to use the bunk room showers the day you are leaving if you want to spend a full day skiing.

My fiancé & I booked this place pretty last minute for a trip to park city to ski for new years weekend - this place is EASILY 5/5. We had an incredible time. This isn’t a high end resort and the rooms are much older but worked for a ski trip. Super clean and the beds actually comfy. but it was so perfect. Reminded me of old ski lodges I stayed in as a kid in Wisconsin. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was perfect before skiing and LOCATION. It was literally a 4 minute walk to the base. The common room was also so comfy and we met a lot of new people. We will stay here anytime we come to Park City to ski. It made our trip absolutely incredible. 10/10 - just book it.

Best ski trip ever

This is an old school no fluff true skiers lodge. Probably one of few left in the country. Perfect location. It is true that this old lodge does not have great sound proofing but I could not believe that every night after 930P we could not hear a pin drop from anyone else. Maybe because there are generally older people that stay here. Never saw kids. I also saw the owner out early in the morning removing the 8 inches of snow that fell overnight off my car to make it easy for us to get out. Who does that? Amazing! Old yes but clean, comfortable, cozy, convenient. The money I saved by staying here paid for my lift ticket, dinner and drinks for 3 every day.

Wow. What a great surprise!

This is our second time staying here and its awesome. Great location, only five minute walk from Park City base resort and a short walk from downtown. Its clean, the wifi and tv are tops,and the staff that work here are helpfull and friendly. If your looking for affordable lodging in Park City this is your place!

Outstanding

It seems like every year skiing becomes more and more of a "luxury" experience... Spas, big flat screens, equipment valets... These all drive eye popping prices at the lift ticket counter and at the hotel. 

Not so at Chateau Apres Lodge (CAL). CAL embraces a decidedly European (read: utilitarian) approach to the ski experience... The beds? Totally adequate. The shower? Warm. The location? Phenomenal. The price? Absolutely unbeatable. 

Other reviews nit pick to the point that I begin to wonder if they even came to Park City to ski? Seriously guys, this place is close to the slopes, you can walk to town, and it doesn't cost $300 a night. 'nuf said!!!!

Ignore bad reviews! Everything you need and nothing you don't.

This is a great place if your purpose is skiing and skiing alone for the reasons below.1- 5 minute walk to the lifts2- Great Staff3- Warm shower, warm and clean room, very comfortable sleep4- They let you shower on your last day of skiing even if you had already checked outWhat else will you need as a skier? Every resort needs a place like this. That’s the only place in Park City I will ever stay from now on.

Great Stay

I loved Chateau Apres Lodge. First, it's location is right at the base of the mountain and a short walk to downtown meaning I didn't need to get a car. Second, it's been family-run for 3 generations by a warm and friendly family. Lastly, it feels like home with a lovely and warm fireplace, common dining area and affordable rooms and dorms. I wish there were more places to stay like this as alternatives to over-priced resorts.
