On arrival at Wyndham Newport Onshore we were told that a portion of the facility was being renovated and that our reservation had been changed to Wyndham Long Wharf.  This was the first notification despite having this reservation for a year.  Long Wharf "accomodated" us with a room over a parking lot !  This transfer resulted in a unit in a less attractive location now distant from the functions we were attending.

I am giving this resort an all around EXCELLENT review, even though my family and I did not stay there. The resort staff members were very professional when they advised me that due to resort renovations, we were being relocated to another Wyndham property, approximately 1 mile away from their convenient "Downtown Newport" location, thereby negating our ability to walk out of the resort and onto the main drag(Thames St.) to access the many stores and restaurants within proximity of the Wyndham Newport Onshore. I was not too happy whenever I learned that RCI was supposed to notify me of this relocation, long before my family and I were scheduled to arrive there on 11-1-19, due to the fact that they had been advised of said situation many months prior to my family and I being told about it, by the "W.N.O." staff members. I AM VERY MUCH DISAPPOINTED WITH RCI'S FAILURE TO KEEP ONE OF THEIR CLIENTS INFORMED OF A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE!

We NEVER Got To Stay Here/RCI Failed To Communicate!!!

After I explained the disappointment about the days in kittery to front desk personnel I stayed at the night before 
The manager upgraded Me to ocean view room. This is like Vegas baby beautiful room

Excellent

2 bedroom units are roomy and are appointed handsomely.  View of the marina and Fort Adams was breathtaking.  Location was within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and activities.  Would highly recommend property

Great location, excellent size and very comfortable

We enjoyed our stay very much. Perfect location. Near shops and restaurants. The unit is very big. Nice layout with two decks and three TVs. We liked that the bedrooms were at each end of the unit. One with a king size bed and the other with two twin beds. Each had their own bathroom. The unit was very clean. 

Great unit

The room is excellent from groups of more than 2.  Hotels can be scarce during the boat show with one bed hotel prices beginning at $300.  The Wyndom Onshore has proven to be a great option with 2 bedrooms right in the action at the waterfront.  The complex is a fairly old timeshare property so its had a lot of hard use but they seem to keep up with it as best they can.  The young lady working the reception desk Sunday has the patience of Job.  There are some pretty horrible self involved people that stay here and she's an angel to put up with it.  The couples staying in the unit below us also had their $2.4M motorboat (Princess S60) docked adjacent to the property.  It wasn't appreciated when they blew the fog horn 3 times that night just outside my window...I had earplugs in and can't imagine what it would have been like if I didn't.  Yeah they were drunk and rowdy.  

Similarly the old couple on Sunday in the white Tahoe/Suburban Denali with the Florida plates blaring their horn in the parking lot at who knows what.   It was 8 AM on a Sunday.  The female (picture Lois Kibbee aka Mrs Smails from the movie Caddyshack) then charges into the manager's office to complain about folks with boats in the marina parking in the timeshare parking lot and slams the door behind her.  She was oblivious to the fact I was walking in right behind her.  Sooo not a place I'd want to own a timeshare given the company, but a great one off solution to attend the boatshow.  Bring your patience.

The timeshare/hotel ammenities are excellent with a pool, multiple gas grills to use, adjacent marina, nice big rooms with a big TV, two balconies, great view.  Love the place, not so much the residents.

Excellent venue

This was our third or fourth visit to this resort.   We had a two bedroom two bathroom unit in building three. 
The location is perfect I don’t think you can get a better location in Newport direct center of town.  Has an outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool.  Some barbecues outside of the grassy area. 
The unit itself is a little bit dated but I understand that it’s going to be refurbished soon.  Has comfortable beds and the unit is fairly quiet.  
The Wi-Fi is extremely sketchy.  
Other than that they’re fairly accommodating.  
I much prefer the Wyndham on Longwharf but you can’t always pick and choose. 

Great location 

We have been coming to this location for years, but it has been MANY years since our last visit.  We were not impressed.  The furniture is dated and worn (dare I say worn out?) (It's the same furniture that's been there for countless years) the bathroom smelled like mildew, and one of the single beds creaked so loudly anytime you moved my husband was lucky to get any sleep.  A side table had all crooked legs, because it had been fixed, not very neatly, with L brackets that showed and just looked trashy.  The kitchen is sparse, not a whole lot of extras on top of the plates, cups etc.  They have redone the decks, are now made of trex material.  They also put out new and nicer tables and chairs on the deck, but they are huge and make the use of the deck awkward.  There is some new paint and curtains in the rooms, but it is truly time for the furniture to get chucked.  The one AMAZING thing about this place is you really can't get a better location.  The units are very roomy, and the front and back deck is a wonderful feature to either people watch or boat watch (depends on the unit, can't do this from all decks in all units)  Check in was pleasant, but very surprised at the limited time there was someone actually at the front desk. I want this place to be so much nicer...With a major refresh in the units, this place would be amazing...The size is awesome, parking is great, laundry in each unit, ample closets, so lots of positives too...

old and dated

This is our second stay at Wyndham Newport Onshore and we love it more than ever. So close to everything in Newport. Watch the harbor from your balcony or if that's not possible, the pool area has a beautiful view of the marina...except you might share the pool with a stray seagull! Our unit was newly remodeled and was beautiful.

Love it more than ever!

Want to commend your staff person, Peter Piazza, for his kindness and professional manner. 
Views were spectacular from the roof top deck, everything was clean. We were even treated to a special visitor on the rooftop deck. A mama seagull and her two babies.
